Makes movies great
More expensive than camera model ambilight systems, but I'm very happy with the responsiveness and quality of the HDMI box. 4k works fine, also works fine with my Sonos soundbar. It will turn itself off automatically with the TV, but on mine I have to turn the lights on with the phone app. This might just be my TV.I like how I can add more Govee side lamps that will work in unison with this.Movies feel bigger and more dramatic.

Great option for a lower price point than the Hue system
It somewhat puzzles me one would think this works like the camera system - but without a camera. It clearly says HDMI sync box in the product title and description.Anyhoo, I own both the Hue system and now the Govee sync box 2. Setup of the Govee box was a bit tricky, especially as a sound system is part of my setup. The Hue box is a bit more flexible when it comes to that. Once installed, latency and colors are excellent - without the need for having the annoying camera mounted onto your TV. Colors are vivid, not 100% accurate, and customization options are extensive (almost too extensive for my taste, but that’s a general issue with the current Govee app). The auto-off feature is convenient. The Philips Hue system offers a bit more convenience at a much higher price, so you better decide for yourself. However, the quality and customization options are pretty great and syncing the box with other Govee lights is flawless. Auto-on once an HDMI signal is detected, and automatic switching to the active HDMI input source like with the Hue system, would be awesome. Maybe that’s an option for a firmware upgrade in the future 🤞🏻 For now, I’ve connected it to the 15 bucks Govee remote, and put all 4 HDMI input sources on a dedicated button, together with the “On” option. Works well so far.To wrap this up: great system that does not need to hide behind the Hue Sync Box (whose color accuracy is superior) for a much lower price. Thumbs up!

Pretty accurate, but this not the camera version.
The media could not be loaded. Wanted something to make my movie time more immersive, I’ve tried the camera version but it wasn’t exactly spot on for, but this product did the job, these thangs are very bright especially if you’re in a dark room, the look of the colors are pretty good but some of the colors aren’t exactly 100%, mainly shades of blue red and yellow range but still pretty spot on, luckily the Govee app lets you control every aspect of the light strips, from brightness down to the saturation of displayed colors to make it more vibrant and more saturated if you choose to do so. Install was a breeze plug and play and you don’t really need the app to be honest. Connectivity is reliable, haven’t had it cut out, if the reds and blue were more red and blue I’d would have given it a 5 star, I’d say Philip hues does those specific colors better but at that point I’m just knit picking, overall very satisfied with my purchase.

The review I wish I saw—and why this deserves 5 stars (even if it’s not perfect)
The media could not be loaded. A lot of what I see other people saying is slightly misleading. I see a mix of:•AAAA AMAZING PERFECT!!•extremely underwhelming.•Good but... *proceeds to list fatal flaws*Here's my honest two cents. What it does well, what it doesn't, and why I'm never owning a TV without one again. Let's get into it.Immersion: This thing is insane. If you’ve never experienced anything like it before, prepare to be hooked. It adds a whole new layer to the experience—it’s not just watching anymore, it’s experiencing. Explosions light up the room, emotional scenes set the mood, and suddenly your TV feels alive. It's hard to find words for how much it changes your enjoyment of what you're watching. ColorsResponse and HDR: The responsiveness is great, no noticeable lag. (It supports 4K at 144Hz, and if you need 8K for your TV… well, you’re probably crazy, but it does handle it at 60Hz.) I’ve seen camera-based systems, and honestly, they don’t even come close in speed. Not at all. HDR has been great for me too, though it really just depends on your TV. If you’re seeing complaints about that, I wouldn’t let that be the reason why you wouldn’t buy. The backlight is very accurate to what’s happening on the edges of the screen. Sure, if you’re the type to sit and stare at the lights instead of the show for five minutes, waiting for an “AHA!” moment to catch something slightly off, you might be able to find something. But in my experience, it’s spot on... I haven’t seen anything like blacks showing as green or other weird issues.HDMI switching: Soo easy. You just press a button on the sync-box and it switches instantly to the other inputs. No need to shuffle HDMI cords around, and you can have 4 different devices plugged into the ports. (Only uses one HDMI cord going to your TV, so you can have more devices that aren't associated with the sync-box)What needs work?-The app interface needs some adjustments to make it more user friendly. Some of the customizations I would argue make the product worth using aren't enabled by default. It's not that big of a deal but having to dig around the app is not ideal, just to make it work correctly. I've already had two firmware updates so it seems like they are working on it actively.-Compatibility with streaming devices can be a bit quirky, it doesn’t turn off by default, even with the right settings (I use a Roku). But let me stress: this is not a big deal. I almost didn’t buy it because of one review mentioning this, and honestly, I’m glad I didn’t listen. There’s literally a button on the device to turn it off. Literally. That said, I don’t even recommend getting up to press it—this thing is fully Alexa-compatible. In fact, I’d say Alexa is almost necessary for the full experience. You can turn it on and off, adjust the brightness, and skip using the app altogether (after you set it up). It really ties everything together. What needs "work"? (my tips)-ITS TOO HARSH, EW. Adjust your settings! Make it less bright, tone down saturation, fine tune the colors with the provided adjustments, change the relative brightness, turn on or off the sound effects, change the softness of the sound effects, adjust the distance of the TV from the wall, change the- (do you get my point? it's really adjustable lol)-It doesn't work with my TV! Unfortunately this guy does not work with a smart TV, it needs some sort of HDMI input to intercept. Even though the camera systems aren't as accurate if you aren't willing to use some sort of other device like a roku or streaming box, you'll have to use one of those. Or another TV.-I don't even have a flat wall behind my TV this won't work... This guy is BRIGHT, see my picture and videos, I did a color and video test to demonstrate it. You don't NEED a flat wall behind it, but I'm sure it helps enhance the viewing experience even more. All in all, this product impressed me. The immersion it creates is insane, but honestly? What sets this apart from others is the price. It's unbeatable. The hue system is so much more expensive, govee is on to something with this lineup. Sure, you can always find small things wrong with a product and I'm not claiming it's perfect, nothing good ever is. But don't let others sway you away from choosing this, it's not a "compromise" even though it's cheaper than similar systems.

Pleasantly Surprised
Other than having some issues getting Bluetooth to connect before switching to WiFi it’s been smooth sailing. BTW there are two buttons on the main box not one. Instructions omitted this. Very happy with the results. Definitely adds some nice effects to watching about anything. Components seem high quality and I am happy about the reasonable price vs you know H$e.
