Lightens jet black hair to a brown
I am of Asian origin and have natural jet black hair. I have been using with product every-so-often for about 2 years. My hair colour is now a medium brown towards the roots and light brown at the ends and can say I have only used this spray to achieve my level of lightness (I haven't used a filter on this photo). It works instantly and is very effective on black hair. It gradually lightens with each use and looks very natural. I activate the spray by using a hot hairdryer. When I am out in the sun my hair looks like a very light brown and this photo was taken in March indoors during the day and you can see that it's several shades lighter than jet black. It won't make me blonde but I don't want to be blonde anyway. I just wanted to achieve a medium to light brown hair colour without dying my hair and damaging it every 2 months. This spray is very gentle and smells ok. It far surpassed my expectations and really does work. You'll notice from the 'very first time' you use it that your hair has gotten 1 shade lighter. With repeated use, you can go several shades lighter.

Works for me!!
Hi allI've used the product 3 times now, and I'm definitely noticing a difference. I already have darkish blond highlights in my hair and they are a lot lighter than what they were, also the rest of my dark blond non lightened hair is looking lighter, its a subtle lightning and I think i'm going to have to use the whole bottle to get the colour I want. (I have just below the shoulder length hair)I like this product because it is easy to control the colour you want to achieve. UPDATE...I've used it on holiday recently and its great to put on after being in the sea and drying in the sun ( don't use it after being in the pool though too many chemicals).I won't need to get my hair coloured at the hairdressers anymore either!! kerching! A great product, go on buy it!Another UPDATEObviously still using this great product, today I was using it to do my roots, read you could do this on dry hair, anyway done my roots left it on for 30 mins, then decided to spray all over dry hair, only left it for 15 mins blow dried and it worked fine without having to wet my hair first! how lazy am I..... note I have been using it as per instructions for a few months now, don't know if you should leap right in and do it on dry hair from the off...

The easiest path to 'natural' blonde
I have been blonde for about 4 years now thanks to lightening sprays. It looks natural and is incredibly easy to maintain. My real colour is a medium brunette (see eyebrows in photo).I switched from Sun-in when the price went up. They are very similar and this review could really be for either. Intea has a nicer scent and I prefer the finer spray mist action. It seems slower-acting than Sun-in so I use more (but still only 2 bottles per year). How To Use:Spray onto the top layers of your damp hair after showering. Leave it on. Get out into the fresh air - the more sun on your head, the greater the effect. Your hair will lighten gradually over time. Eventually you will only need to spray the roots. I find 2-3 times per week is perfect. The sun has a big effect on this spray, much more than a hot hair dryer. If I let the roots lapse for a few months I'll catch back up much faster in the Summer. For the last year I've only air dried my hair and it made no difference. Originally I used to spray all my hair, turning my head upside down to cover the underneath layers, then blow dry. But the underneath hair barely lightened at all, despite being closest to the heat of my head all day. Save your spray, let the sun do the work on the bits people will see. The multilayered colour looks like infinite shades of highlights, it's beautiful.Hair Damage:None noticeable. The hairdresser says my hair is soft and strong. I'm pretty sure high concentrations of bleach at a salon are more damaging, as well as being horrible for the environment. That said the only things I do to my hair are shampoo and lightening spray so if you use a lot of straighteners and products you may be affected differently. Conditioner is overrated! If you need it, it might be worth finding a leave-in one you can apply after spraying, as I believe the spray works by acting on the cell structure of the hair.

Awesome product but WARNING DO NOT BLEACH EVEN 3 MONTHS AFTER USE
Ok, so as much as this product was incredible and lifted my hair, not majorly - but a shade lighter. It is not 100 percent natural, I went to the hair salon today to get highlights... The hair dresser asked my hair routine, and just before we were about to proceed I mentioned I was using a natural hair lightening spray.. his face changed , he said time to do a strand test. Although these chemicals say natural they have something called metallic salts or something similar, a chemical that has to react with the sun. Once this is applied to your hair, the hair will soak it and keep that metallic salt in for months...Within 2 minutes of the strand test ...he said, if you hadn't told me about that, we would of had to cut all of your hair off... The strand of hair was like chewing gum... It stretched, and then broke!!! This stuff completely destroys the protein in your hair and has been banned in most countries. I haven't used heat, (blow-dryer, straightners) On my hair in one year at all. Every time in the past I have gone to the hair dressers I was so confident with my hair I would sign a waiver about the chemical test and have perfect highlights. He said I have to let this grow out, or use protein shampoo and maybe try another strand test in 3 months and we will see. So if you are using this to see if you want to go lighter and do this before confirming a discussion to the hair dresser. Tell your stylist !!! The strand was even fizzing and dissolving my hair ! Absolute catastrophie avoided ! Also for anyone still not believing , I hadn't used this product for 2 weeks and still fizz , dissolve, stretch, break, and then cry my eyes out due to having my head shaved ...
