A life changer for any pet owner!
This has been such a game changer for us a family. We have two cats and were forever having to ask neighbours to pop in over weekends when we were away to see family. This pet feeder has changed all that and means we can nip away for weekends safe in the knowledge that the cats will be fed at their normal meal times and we won't continue to take our neighbours helpfulness for granted. The feeder itself is about the size of two large cereal boxes put together and bowl is large enough for two cats to feed from at the same time. We use James Wellbeloved dry food in our feed and a full hopper lasted for about 2 weeks. You'll also need to purchase 4 D Cell batteries which the manufacturer states will last approximately 1 year of constant use.Setting up the feeder was rather simple, the instructions were clear and simple to follow. The only onerous task was to work out how much food to dispense at each meal time as different cat food weighs differently. I got round this my weighing a number of portions dispensed and then worked out from that how many portions required to feed our two cats at their meal times. (for us it was 4 portions per meal time). The slow feed option is really great, especially for our two cats as it means that the meal time is spread over 15mins so it gives ample time for both cats to eat the correct amount.Cleaning of the parts is easy enough and the lid has a decent lid so curious cats or dogs shouldn't be able to lift it off, also the machine is heavy enough not to be knocked over. This is a fantastic feeder that will pay for itself over and over again as we will not have to pay for expensive boarding for our cats when we are on holiday. On a side note look out for this on amazon warehouse deals, we managed to get ours, not in an original box mind, for 70GBP. A steal if you ask me.

Works great! Only thing missing is an Alexa skill for the UK
We've had this for about a week now, and it's been an absolute saviour. Both myself and my other half sleep really badly, and take a long time to get back to sleep when woken up and so having the cat automatically fed a little bit before he would usually try to wake up and bother us is amazing. The timer is spot on, and although the measurements in in 1/8 cup increments, if you can work out what you'd usually feed a cat through the day, weigh that, and then weigh a 1/8 cup portion from the machine, the calculations are simple if your cat eats all the things in sight like ours does.Couple of observations we've had - firstly, the biscuits make quite a loud dinging noise when they hit the bowl if it's empty, which for our cat was utterly terrifying to begin with, if he was in the kitchen. It does work brilliantly to summon him from the bedroom in the morning though! If you use your own bowl, and have one of those sloping ones to try and help with flat faced cats/whisker fatigue, it will serve as an excellent slide to send the biscuits on the floor for you to step on, or the dog to eat.. so worth keeping that in mind. The 1 thing I took a star off for though - there is an Alexa skill that can be enabled, but doesn't work with the UK Alexa accounts. Although we have timers available, my wife being visually impaired would massively benefit for asking "she who must not be named" to feed the cat if it was needed. Other than that, this thing is worth every penny.

This was almost perfect and worth the price... but one fatal flaw has ruined it!
This feeder is very expensive and was 5 times the price of my old feeder. That's not a complaint in itself - I don't mind spending that price if it means peace of mind. This was almost worth every penny. There's one fatal flaw which is a dealbreaker... if your machine loses connection with the WiFi, it will stop issuing feeds for eternity. It doesn't automatically try to reconnect to the WiFi - you have to be physically present to manually reconnect it. It won't 'remember' any scheduled feeds, even if it has power. There is also no option to connect an ethernet cable. If it loses WiFi connection even once, it will stop issuing feeds until it's manually reconnected. I leave my cats alone for 24 hours sometimes, so this would have been a nightmare.I even moved the feeder next to the router, and it still failed me. My internet is pretty quick so this is really inexcusable, and seems quite a basic flaw for a 'smart' feeder. It seems ridiculous having the 'fail safe' of the batteries, yet the machine can't even issue scheduled feeds if it loses internet. Good luck if you have a power cut and your router cuts out! Again, it won't automatically reconnect to the Wi-Fi...I've now returned this and got the 'non smart' version... hopefully that can finally give me peace of mind!
