What material is this toy car？

Mostly metal but the wheels and the parts that move are plastic. My grandson is 3 and broke it in a matter of days. I would not recommend for smaller children.

Is it suitable for kids？

It really depends on the age. The truck is very detailed and fairly sturdy. I gave them to 3 year old grandsons and they got pretty frustrated trying to operate the mechanism, doors etc. They were too young for it. The box says for 5 or 6 and up which is more appropriate.
