This product does a good job
It's getting hard to find ink erasers, so the first special thing about this product is that it's available. The ink end of the eraser is a good compromise--it's not so hard or gritty that it damages the paper, but if I'm persistent, it will remove the ink. If this is the only ink eraser you can find--as it was for me--you can buy it with assurance it'll do the job.

Handy Dual-Purpose Eraser
This eraser is super convenient. One side works great on pencil marks, while the other side handles ink without tearing the paper. I keep one in my desk drawer and another in my bag. It’s affordable and really comes in handy for school and work projects.

Does not work on ballpoint ink
It does not work as expected. I remember having ink erasers in the past that worked beautifully with little effort. I rubbed for several minutes on Bic ballpoint ink marks using this eraser, and I could not erase the ink. I tried the ink side and the pencil side just for kicks, and neither worked on the ink. I usually use whiteout if I make a mistake, but I needed this erase for a specific purpose and was disappointed that it failed.

Both sides work!
Before erasable gel was invented, we had this kind of eraser. And it works. I use it for ballpoint ink, which I prefer over the gel.If anything, you must start with a light rub and give it a few extra strokes, depending on the paper, but it does work. It's a good addition to any pencil case.
