A Sasquatch, a velociraptor, and feral Tribbles… Pokemon Go-style
This sequel describes what happened to sixth-grader Jesse, the narrator of the original title to this series, right where that story left off. As before, this is a text novel, seasoned with just a few illustrations. Once again, Jesse has found himself in the eponymous dilemma. Yet I must commend the author for the variation he came up with this time, which pays obvious homage to what was, at one point, a wildly popular augmented-reality game.Three other characters from the prior volume have returned, including one whose fate was left up in the air in Book One, and it was satisfying for me to find Jesse and his companions seeking to resolve that character's predicament. This volume is relatively brief, action-packed (seemingly more so than the first book), suspenseful, funny, and meant to appeal to late-year elementary-school readers. No need for excessive detail or exact logic; I could fill those in for myself whenever I felt the need arise. The aim is to just have fun with the story. While there was no gross-out element as in the original, one scenario involving a credit card no doubt proved awkward for one character -- a bizarrely inventive look at what immersion into virtual reality makes possible. The end turned out to be far more a cliffhanger on this occasion.

7 year old and his dad both love it!!
My 7 year old son and I are writing this review together. We read about 2 chapters each night before bed and we loved this book! It follows right after the amazing book #1 and has more of a Pokémon Go storyline that he really seemed to understand. His favorite line is in chapter four, when Jesse says “OKso I was basically Elsa from frozen!” He laughed so hard he fell off the bed! There aren’t many books that are as funny as this one for a kid while also being enjoyable to read as the adult! We’re on to book 3!

Son loves these
My son loves these books. I haven't read them all the way through but I don't understand why other parents trash-talk the writing. It's not that bad. It's cheesy and simple - but that's what my kiddo likes. He laughs out loud when he reads these, and that in itself makes them worth the buy.

So glad I bought these!
My son LOVES these books! He's 7, going into the second grade next month, and is a great reader in general. He loves these books and has just about finished the series. He reads about 3/4 chapters in 20 minutes so he's finished each book in just a couple sittings but he's even reread parts whole waiting for the next to be delivered. I definitely recommend for young readers!

My 8 year old loves this
We were really struggling to find something my 8 year old boy would like. All our favorites weren't working for him and he kept telling everyone he hates reading. :(But he is reading this series everyday and actually laughing and sharing about it to his grandparents. Thanks for saving the day! His reading has improved after reading aloud for thirty minutes a day. We're on the third book in the series now. Even his teachers noted the improvement and had him share about the books to his classmates to get them excited about reading too.

It’s sort’ve like Tron but for kids!
Action packed stories that young gamers will enjoy. I’m currently reading book 2 of this series with my 4th grader. There are some challenging words but overall its a quick fun read. The chapters are short and there are some pictures in each book. At the end the author included free activities that teach readers about how video games are created.

Wow
I bought this for my 7 year old grandson. It was the book that sparked his desire to read for fun because he could imagine himself as the main character. The first book was slow going but he blew through the second book, and just got the third book two days ago and he is half way through it. He is now testing 2 grade levels above the average.

Great Book
Bought this book for my son who hates reading so finding material he like seem impossible at times. I'm proud to say my son has read all three volumes of Trapped in a Video game. Everyday when i get home from work he explain the story and wants me to buy more of them. I will definitely buy more books from this author.

enjoyed by both adult and child, a really exciting read for both.
My grandson loves this series, he has 4 of them now, and I will be buying more. He is 8, and his dad reads it to him, and his dad enjoys it too, so good for both parent and child to enjoy together. So nice when the adult enjoys the story too, and can really get into it.
