The best beauty recipe book available!
The Beauty Cookbook is the first book to open my eyes to the simplicity and resourcefulness of using regular ingredients found in your kitchen as part of your everyday (or once a week) beauty routine. This book has become my beauty bible, the book I return to again and again! The book is divided up into 9 "Courses":Course 1: Facial RecipesCourse 2: Hair RecipesCourse 3: Mani, Pedi, And More RecipesCourse 4: Sexy Body RecipesCourse 5: Forty Years Young RecipesCourse 6: Spa RecipesCourse 7: A Daily MenuCourse 8: Lifestyle RecipesCourse 9: Interview With AuthorsThe authors Kym Douglas and Cindy Pearlman start there book with a hilarious introduction about a frantic trip to a cosmetic counter at closing time to get a item one of the woman just had to have! I have to say, It had me laughing as I could totally relate to being "hooked" on buying the "newest and best" products on the market. Luckily for us, they decided to forgo the expensive products that rarely, if ever, do what they say and start creating there own wonderful homemade beauty products! The most important aspect that makes The Beauty Cookbook a fabulous book has to be how EASY the recipes are! I have so many pages "dog eared" and many recipes circled that I am thinking of buying a second "presentable" copy to keep on my bookshelf. The recipes use everyday items you probably already have in your kitchen.BananasLemonsYogurtAvocadoHoneySugarMilkEpsom SaltTea bagsOlive oilOatmealVinegarJuicesBaking SodaCoffee GroundsTo name just a few..and some of the ingredients I didn't have and had to purchase are:VodkaWitch HazelMapel SyrupCoconut MilkSoy MilkCornstarchCornmealDry YeastHeavy creamJojoba OilPomegranate JuiceTofuThere are so many recipes that just use two or three simple ingredients and not one of the recipes requires very much effort at all! The Beauty Cookbook also includes great tips and at the end has a "Daily Menu" as a wonderful example at all we can still do even when we have alot on our plate. It's a wonderful book that I have loved using and highly recommend to everyone of all ages!!I also own two other beauty books that I love and would recommend:Return To BeautyAndBabushka's Beauty Secrets

Great ideas but one small complaint.....
I bought this for my girlfriend who already dabbles in the kitchen and tries to make her own masques. Hers are basic and I thought this would help her expand the ingredients as well as the benefits. After thumbing through the book, I was intrigued and decided to browse but ended up reading it from cover to cover. The recipes for facial treatments are easy and they vary depending on what you're wanting to do (rehydrate, relive sunburn, etc.) However, on page 36 and 37, there are two treatments: "No-shine complexion treatment" and "Cornstarch facial." Both require 1/2 c. orange juice, 1 tbl. cornstarch and a dash of salt. Two different names..... same ingredients and measures. "Leave on the skin for 10 minutes." I'm not sure if they repeated this because they needed a filler for the book, or if they thought that nobody would notice. Pages 36 and 37 face each other and when you close the book, the receipes are right on top of each other.Bad editing? Trying to trick the public? Oversight? Do the authors sincerely believe these are two separate treatements? (Or being a guy, am I missing something that only ladies know?)For whatever reason, I just find it a little odd. That is the only reason I gave it 4-stars. The receipes themselves, though, get 5-stars.You'll also get a huge laugh out of the introduction - the mental image it will create in your head is sheer genius. Very well written!

Best book buy in a long time!
I just bought this book last week. The whole book almost reads like it was written for me, TO ME. Kym and Cindy do such a great job relating to women. I'm 23 years old and don't have a need for some of the wrinkle treatments, but I tried an egg yolk in my hair tonight and what a difference! My hair feels great! Egg White face mask made my skin feel so good (I even used it a bit for perkier breasts!). I can't wait to get to the grocery store so that I can buy a few of this books staples (lemons, olive oil, baking soda, etc...). Very great buy and totally worth every penny (especially now that I'm on my way to saving so much money on beauty products!)

Celebrity Secrets on a Suburbia Budget!
When life gives you lemons, now you can whiten your nails! That's just one of the terrific tips that Kym and Cindy give us in "The Beauty Cookbook." Easy, fun recipes with stuff we've already got in the kitchen, that can make us look and feel more beautiful and radiant. The best part is that what's good for our skin, is also good for the environment. These are environmentally friendly beauty recipes, no chemicals, everything natural - and yes, mostly even edible! But the recipes aren't for concoctions to eat, they're to bathe in, or slather on. Yummy, fragrant, and practical. You'll never look at your refrigerator in the same way again.

Not work the Money
This is not worth ordering or reading. I bought this as a gift and it was so bad, I just could not bring myself to give them to anyone. They were so bad I tossed them out. Don't waste your money. Buy a cook book.

Great tips!
This book is full of really great, inexpensive beauty tips. My favorite tip is for brunettes: rinsing your hair with coffee to bring out the luster and shine of dark hair (that can sometimes look really dull). Great book!
