Perfect size, and suppliment to my digital copy.

Book came in mint condition. And I LOVE the fact that the pages do not have a shine to it, so no over head light glare. I don't want to say its construction paper, but its not printer paper either. its somewhere in between. So using pencils and erasing will be better (for me) but I would say use non-bleed highlighters. I mean you're already on amazon, so.

A must for serious students of Koine Greek

Great for aiding in learning Scripture in original language

A self-contained class.

Mounce is a great author and teacher. Between this textbook, the workbook, and all the free resources on his website, you can learn Greek without a formal class. (Or pay for his online class.) I really enjoy the layout and pace of this book.

Very complete but not optimized for ease of learning

1. Humans learn language by learning patterns, examples and frequencies.2. Grammar teachers teach grammar by elaborating tables of word forms, even including theoretically-possible word forms that nobody actually uses. The two methods are incompatible, and only the first works for normal people. This is an ancient struggle, and Mounce leans towards the second method.Mounce's book is encyclopedic, but it's hard to extract what you need from the large grammar tables, which mix together important and unimportant word forms. If you are a grammarian by nature and plan a career teaching New Testament Greek, then read Mounce. But if your priority is to read Greek, then I much prefer "The Elements of New Testament Greek" by Jeremy Duff. Duff does in 250 pages what Mounce does in 400.Compare the essential and irregular simple past tense (Second Aorist). Duff lists 21 frequent verbs on page 125 and I go back to that page all the time. Mounce similarly gives you 26 of them, but you have to dig all the way down to pages 461-462 to get them.

Excellent Greek Grammar

I am going to use this Greek Grammar to teach basic Greek. The layout of this Greek Grammar and the ease of use as well as the thoroughness of the book make it a great choice.
