Very useful & nice little book for those knitters who like me enjoy dressing & making dolls for grandchildren.Very clear instructions & patterns. Most children of say 8/9 upwards would find the instructions easy to understand.

The biggest problem for me is that There are no colour pictures of either the outfits or dolls other than the front and back covers. It is basically a doll pattern in a book form. It's a very good pattern but I would have appreciated knowing there are not the usual colour pictures of the dolls and clothes. The patterns are good and the shoe and slipper section particularly good and this is so often neglected in doll making books. The doll pattern has the face printed on it which helps as placing eyes can be difficult. The patterns are all full size so easy to trace or print off if you have a suitable printer. Overall a good book to make small dolls and outfits which is the point really.

This book is very interesting, there are lots of useful tips concerning the making of the dolls or their clothes.

This is such a wonderful book! I bought it to dress Madame Alexander and Ginny dolls, but the cloth doll pattern is adorable, too. This book would be great for a grandmother, or mother to do with a little girl. Since I do not have grandchildren yet I will have to play by myself. The book starts with the easier projects first, then the next chapter is a little more difficult, etc. I love to sew by hand and this book works even if you don't want to use a sewing machine. A must for anyone that enjoys dollmaking or designing small clothes. This book is great for someone with very little sewing experience, or the more advanced seamstress. The directions are very comprehensive. The patterns could also be adapted for a boy doll. I am so happy I purchased this book!

If you have little girls with lots of little dolls that need clothes, this is the perfect book. Patterns are simple and can be trimmed with all those small bits we 'sewists' hang on to. I think they would fit some of the taller 'storybook' dolls of the 50's . It's a bonus that the author has a website where you can get additional tips and a few freebies. I like this and the one for 6.5" dolls much better than some others that require one to hunt for pattern pieces that will work together ,then require alteration to use. The price is right and the book has lots of good photos and instructions for producing professional results Really glad I got it.

I love small dolls and enjoy dressing them in new clothes. This book has not only instructions for making small dolls it has clothes patterns (too). I have made one of the patterns and it fits my Ginny dolls perfectly. I am excited to try some more of the clothes patterns. The instructions are easy to follow. One may need to have some sewing experience. However, if you are a novice to sewing, these doll patterns could help you to understand garment construction on a small simple level. Some of my friends started their sewing careers making doll clothes. Just wish there were more hours in the day.
