What a great little extender. It contains 3 x USB 3.0 ports as well as the full range of card readers but if you are only using micro SD in your appliance then you will need to make sure that you also have a SD card adapter. There is only a full sized SD card reader built in. This unit has a power plug as well so can support multiple power draining devices such as external hard drives. If you are using it purely as a card reader then of course you do not need to find an extra power socket to plug it in. It is a very neat unit only measuring 8.5cm x 5.5cm (or for us oldies 3.25in x 2.125in). It comes with a power cord that's nearly 2M long and a data cable that's nearly 1M long so you have plenty of range for positioning around your computer.So far I have used it for both reading data cards, both compact flash and SD and also so copy to and read from external hard drives and found no problems with any job.When researching I came across quite a few other devices that were both more expensive and cheaper (imports that would take weeks to arrive) but found the price and specification of this unit to be better than most. After buying and trying this unit I have no qualms about recommending on grounds of quality of build, specification and price. A quality bit of kit.

Quick shipping & delivery at a good price. Only 2 minor points preventing me from giving 5 stars - 1) The data cable is pretty short and 2) The microSD port does not recognise my SDHC cards. I can still read the micro SDHC cards using an adapter and the length of the data cable means I cannot place the hub in the easiest to access position. While these two issues have lost a star from my review they don't affect me to the extent that a return & replacement is required.

A really nice piece of kit. Reads everything you need read and being self powered it doesn't put additional strain on your computer.

Yeah, this is a USB hub. It works. The supplied USB cable is quite short so I did have to buy another. The compact flash card slot is only compatable with type I cards so any type II cards will not fit! A little disappointing, but also not a deal breaker.

When I was buying this, someone in a review said it didn't have a microSD card reader. Didn't bother me as I have adaptors. It shows you in the instructions where it is. Shares a slot with another slightly larger type of card so it's not exactly a snug fit but works fine. No real comments other than that. Haven't done a speed test or anything but all seems to work as advertised.

some of my external hdd keep disconnecting every now and then, I don't know why, maybe their fault... otherwise it's a good product

Neat small does the job, reasonable price. The only thing letting the whole down was DPD, they deliver to where they want to and not where you asked for it to be delivered. And then they say it's your fault. Three time in a week they mucked up the delivery.

I brought this to use with my car monitor and it works perfectly.This card reader is greatand does what it is meant to,it also is a really good quality and comes in very nice packaging.Recommended!
