Terrific quality and value!
Really pleased with the quality, I use a Foredom every day for my work, and this feels very similar and works as well, I like the colour it’s easy to spot on your bench. Terrific value.

This REALLY has a 1/4" (6mm) chuck!
A lot of confusion regarding these aftermarket handpieces. I have a Foredom TX with square drive, and 2 Harborfreight cheap copies (that work quite well, but can't compare to the power and feel of the Foredom). It seems the "faithful" copies of the Foredom handpiece have a 4mm (5/32" max) chuck, but there are a few, like this one that have a larger chuck capable of handling a 1/4 shank tool. The housing is slightly flared at the business end to clear the larger Jaocobs style chuck. The chuck key is larger as well, and the 4mm version won't work on this handpiece. This unit comes with a nice overmolded key that let's you run the chuck in and out quickly. It fits the HF tools well, but is too small for the Foredom cable (which is SOP for aftermarket handpieces, no problem if you have a lathe or another handpiece with which to open up the cable opening).Bearings and all small parts seem top quality, and it's well worth the current asking price 10-2020. As such I rated it 5 stars, - including "Sheerness", and I really don't know what property Sheerness refers to, except maybe in fabric, (certainly not applicable here), in any case it's all good, so I gave it 5 "Sheerness Stars" as well as 5 "Value for money" and 5 "Ease of use" Stars. If you're looking for a good quality "Foredom" handpiece copy/clone with true 1/4" (6mm) capacity, this fits the bill, only with the caveat that you will have to open up the cable sheath connection to use it with a true Foredom tool. (it also is made to work with the "Flag" style cable, which is by far the most common among Foredom and clone tools) It isn't compatible with Foredom Square Drive cables. As stated earlier, the undersized cable connection seems to be the case for most all copy/clones. While it's too small for Genuine Foredom cables, it fits most copy/clone tools perfectly out of the box. I literally unboxed it, plugged it into my Harbor Freight tool, installed a 1/4" shank sanding drum, and was sanding in 2 minutes or less. Super smooth bearings. One issue, not with this unit specifically, but with this style handpiece in general. Be careful when using, your hand can creep up and make contact with chuck teeth thru the halfmoon cutout, and you can receive a cut/friction burn which is extremely painful. If you're settling in for a long job, a piece of business card held with a bit of electrical tape covers the opening.Enjoy your new 1/4" handpiece, in all it's "Sheer" glory!

Great for the price
This has been a welcome addition to my Fordom flex shaft tool. Been using it with 1/4" shank carving burrs, etc., and for the most par it works well. I sometimes have issues with attaching or removing the handpice, but eventually I can do it. Also can get pretty warm if used for long periods, but not a big deal.

description is not true
This product may say it takes 1/4 inch shanks, but it does not. Do not buy this if you want to use 1/4 inch shanks. They do not fit at all.

need for additional restraint of the unit with the flex cable sheath.
Sad to report the need for additional restraint of the unit with the flex cable sheath. The Ball engaging the detent in the shaft isn't strong enough to prevent disengagement of the unit while operating which could become a safety issue. The unit housing needs a set screw opposite the detent ball to be engaged after the ball is engaged to assure axial restraint is assured. (similar to how your flex shaft is retained to the motor in the photo from you add): [to engage with the ball detent in the flex shaft].I'd appreciate feedback on this and suggestions on the remedy.Otherwise, the unit appears to be of good quality.Regards,Mike [email protected]

Check tightness of nut on shaft of hand tool at cable before attaching it to cable.
I like that the replacement handgrinding tool from Go2Home is a sturdier tool with better bearings than the Heris handgrindingtool which came with original 1/4 hp motor.

Good Value
Little tough to get on, but works fine with my Foredom and is way cheaper than the actual Foredom handles.
