Out of the gate, this sheath is exactly what I hoped it would be. The leather is thick and is the real deal. The quality looks to be exceptional and it's gorgeous.

Received the leather sheath today and here I am writing a comment. As you can tell that the leather sheath doesn’t perfectly fit my knife, a cold steel D2 combat knife with 7” blade. It’s too wide and too long. Both width and length should be half an inch shorter. I thought about returning it and get one that fits better but the side little pocket changed my mind. With that being said, it doesn’t change the fact that this leather sheath is well made. Holding it in my hand, I can feel the sturdiness and durability. It’s made so sturdy with thick leather, top grain. I would like it better, if it was made with full grain Even though, sturdiness wise, they are the same, they have different texture. Again, this sheath is made so well. I can tell and I believe it will last for many many years. I like it !!

Good quality and should work well in combat situations.

I ordered the size by measuring the knife. It is too small for my knife. Tight going in and cannot be safely withdrawn. I am trying to stretch it for a better fit.

I love the pouch! It’s the perfect size for a variety of items! I put a .5 oz metal tin in it with various fire starters and it fits! I also have my bayite 5/16” ferro rod on it! Great job! The knife sheath it’s self fits a couple of my many knives but currently is home to my M48 Giant Tanto. It fits, barely. I really just use it for batoning and as a giant birdcage awl. Great horizontal sheath!

The scabbard arrived ahead of schedule and is absolutely a perfect fit for my knife. I am glad I canceled the other scabbard and ordered this one as the size could not be better. my only disappointment is the pocket that is riveted to the front of the scabbard. I had hoped that it was only stitched on but it is in fact riveted so I'll have to live with it. overall, I will score a 9.5 out of 10.

I bought this after reading the reviews which praise this sheath's craftsmanship. This is a CAD $40 sheath and I've gotten what I paid for: a mediocre crafted leather sheath. 1. Buttons are not uniformly positioned on the straps. It's quite noticeable. The inner surface of one of the straps is also quite rough and not uniformly stained. 2. The center pouch is positioned such that it interferes with the operation of one of the straps. This annoys me. 3. The stitching holes in the center pouch are quite large and are neither stained nor sealed. It's a glaring colour difference. Also the stitching is not tied at one (possibly both?) ends and will eventually come loose. 4. The leather itself is dry as it can be without becoming brittle. I've spent some time working in some dubbin grease and observing the craftsmanship of this sheath. The leather is soaking the grease up greedily and is beginning to look very nice. That's my honest first impression. I didnt have great expectations and this inexpensive sheath does not surprise me greatly. I am unable to comment on the sheath's functionality or usability yet, but hope that it comes to outperform my expectations.

I didn’t realize that a sideways sheath was so great, when you’re not using your knife you can slide the sheath around behind your back and it’s totally out of your way. When you sit down around camp and slide the knife around to your side it does not stick down uncomfortably into the chair and it’s very accessible when you need to pull out your knife quickly. Of course to make that work you just have to have a good leather belt that you can slide your knife around from front to the side. I like this knife sheath so much I bought three.

Great fit for a homemade knife, just check your blade measurements and order the right model. The scout-carry style, the fire steel loop and tinder pouch all make this a useful design. The leather is of good quality as is stitching. A custom kydex sheath certainly has its own advantages and you could certainly go that route, albeit that'll likely cost quite a bit more. Time will ultimately tell, but this seems a good product for the money.
