Few bearings but they put in work, used the reel half the season and it casts far and easily with no birds nests

It’s Shimano. Feels good in hand, smooth, light, and solid. No play in the handle or thumb bar. I do wish a few components were not made out plastic, like the drag star. Other than that, solid Shimano reel for beginners and the break dial is good. Well worth $50.

I really like Shimano parts a lot for mountain bikes so I decided to get a Shimano bait caster. This is one of if not the cheapest option out there so I wasn't expecting much and I'd say it's on par with what I expected. It works and works pretty well. The quality is good, everything feels smooth and fluid. It's got a lot of adjustability. My only complaint is that it's pretty bad with lightweight lures. You need at least medium weight to get a good cast on this thing. It works for my type of fishing but I bring my tiny rod for when I fish off docks to go for the lightweight stuff.

Simply put, this is an amazing deal on a fishing reel. It feels nice, casts like a dream, and seems to be very strong. Easy to set up and use with 50 lb braid (12 lb mono equivalent diameter) which is what I decided to try it out with first. I plan to use in brackish water for stripers, red drum and speckled trout. Heavier duty braid is a must around rocks and barnacled covered pilings.

So first of all right out the box it feels like a super nice reel, buttery smooth, good feeling handles, and free spool button is nice and clicky but the actual longevity of the reel is a different story, the whole reel is made with super cheap parts so at first it’s smooth but the gears and bearings break down super quickly, I’ve already owned 2 of these reels and the same happened to both, nice out the box then it broke down after a few months of fish smacking, so if your looking to get a reel for a vacation trip or some short term trip then this is definitely a great buy especially for the price! If you just want to get started on baitcasters but want to spend minimal money and don’t mind if it breaks down on you in a few months, I would say try it out, they aren’t that expensive so give it a shot short term! And the casting is insanely good with this reel and it’s super easy to cast without any backlashes! Hope this helps with your purchase!
