This sturdy little gadget is no toy (I bought the Boska Holland Partyclette Explore Mini Raclette, Black). It works really well and makes nice bubbling hot cheese right next to my breakfast, lunch, dinner plate in minutes, or at my campsite. No need for a cumbersome raclette grill to drag out, set up and find an extension cord to plug into. It comes with a spatula and 3 tealights, and though it does melt cheesel, it melts very slowly, and doesn't bubble the way I like. So I made an easy improvement and added a 4th tealight (short metal cup type) and VOILA!, I had pefect bubbly melted cheese in just a couple of minutes! So, I suggest 4 tealights instead of only 3 for cheese. If you're going to melt chocolate, I think 3 tealights would be perfect though. I love that it's light weight and the base folds up, as does the handle, for compact storage. This will be easy to carry on our many hiking trips this summer, or in the motorhome off-grid. Set-up is beyond easy, and the sturdy base holds the cheese pan securely. Someone commented that the base sides keep falling down. I haven't had this issue. I think it's because maybe they didn't snap them into position with a gentle push outward on each side. They do stay in position then. I also like that the pan itself can be placed directly onto a BBQ grill or hot coals at our campsite to melt the cheese. One of the reasons I wanted one without a wooden handle, it's non combustible and versatile! My favorite recipe so far is melting some aged havarti and goat cheese and then serving it "American-style" on a flour tortilla. I prepare a flour tortilla by cutting into 4 wedges and then toast for a minute in my toaster oven until puffed-up and crispy. I love cheese, and I love having my cheese melted over my food, so this was a nice little purchase. The only issue I really have with it is just that it's on the small side, and it holds enough cheese for a single person. It takes a few minutes to melt the cheese too, so you should start melting beforehand, if you want hot cheese over hot food. This makes a great gift for any kind of foodie though! It definitely makes me want a bigger, fancier one.

I bought this as a gift for a fellow foodie. I own a full size raclette grill, and may buy one of these for myself. Perfect for a cozy night in with a bottle of wine, it levels up your charcuterie game. It’s compact enough to travel with, easy to set up & use, and eady to clean & maintain. Great gift bundle idea with wine & cheese jams. Easy to heat with tea lights, this is so much fun to use.

I was watching. French series on Prime and the characters were eating raclette in a local restaurant. I had visited France quite often when I was young and had forgotten all about raclette. It’s a delicious dish where they melt cheese at the table and pour it over meat and veggies. It’s basically an excuse to eat melted cheese! And why not?! So I looked it up on Amazon and they actually had a raclette set. I had to get one. I just tried it for the first time this past week. WOW! It’s so much fun. Cook anything that you like paired with cheese. Sit around the table and melt the cheese (they have it at Trader Joe’s and Ralph’s) and then pour away. It’s the French version of cheese fondue except that the French don’t bother with all that dipping. They just pour the whole fondue out on their plates….🤣

Of course it goes on sale Right after I bought It.... Anyways! Still Absolutely worth the 35 bucks I paid for it. Love making homemade crackers and melting some lovely cheese on it without a disgusting microwave. I am Very surprised these things are not way more popular. If you do decide to get one, get this one and not the cheaper version... The cheaper versions metal flakes off very easily. UPDATE Started to chip on me, very upsetting... thinking maybe using a tad bit of pam before you start the melting process might help, still very upsetting. Especially since I used it a lot, like 3-4 times a week I was hoping it would last longer than it did... SECOND UPDATE I bought another one, that shows you how much I loved this thing the first time. I am pleased to report that they have started used a new type of metal that Does Not scratch and chip. So far one month in its very good still. I still use a tiny bit of non stick coconut oil spray just to be safe. Perfect Now!

When I first saw this product I was quite skeptical. NOT ANY MORE. It is a terrific product - sturdy, well-made, efficient. I didn't think the tea lights would provide enough heat -- they do, and gently enough to create a bubbling melted pool of cheese even with unevenly shape cheese. I thought the pan would be flimsy - it is not - and rinses quickly and easily - there's no smoke residue on the bottom and no cheese sticks to the inside. The pan itself holds enough cheese for two small portions - perfect for date night !

Cumple mis expectativas

I bought this for my partner’s birthday. We are cheese lovers and I bought the raclette cheese to try. We just dipped bread into the tray and it was great, and I reckon it’d be good for different cheeses too. Looking forward to putting melted cheddar cheese on nachos! We used this while camping but we’ve since used it at home just on the table, although I’d put a mat under it if it’s not a glass table. It gets surprisingly hot considering it’s candle powered, but the non-stick coating is high quality and everything just slides off, so it’s easy to clean. Best of all it folds up into its little box and is very compact. I’d definitely buy again.

Ich habe mir direkt zwei dieser Raclettes bestellt und muss sagen, das ich hin und weg bin! Ich war skeptisch, weil die Grills mit Teelichtern betrieben werden, doch das war unbegründet. Sie funktionieren total gut! Wir geben neben den beiden standardmäßigen 2 Lichtern immer 3 Teelichter rein, dann schmilzt der Käse noch schneller. Das Maß der Grills ist genau so groß, dass eine Scheibe Raclette-Käse GENAU in die Pfannen passt. Ganz großartig. Wir benutzen die Grills übrigens beim Camping, wo man meistens keinen Strom hat. Auch unsere Freund*innen waren ganz begeistert davon und wollen sich nun auch welche dieser Raclettes holen! Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung!
