Great
Awesome book with a lot of educational information

Pisses me off every time I read a chapter. It’s like a personal attack on being having white skin.
Does everyone assume all white people are racist? It seems to me that everyone has cultural bias. It doesn’t matter if you are black white brown or green. Everyone has preconceptions about other people. Race, social economic group, hair color (red heads are all hot head). Maybe at some point we can all just be human.

Great book - a bit long-winded
This textbook does a great job of covering a wide array of topics that are necessary to learn as an educator teaching children from different backgrounds, races, and cultures. I took off one star because the chapters often drag on for longer than is necessary.

Be careful not always the best conditions
The book itself is a good book! I just don’t like the fact that I get really worn out books in the beginning of my school semester and when I return them I get charged. The books already come worn out and I don’t think that it’s worth it for me to pay for an already jacked up cover

A Must for Every Educator
"Affirming Diversity" is an excellent resource that should be read by every teacher and educator. It describes the diversity of children in our schools and through case studies makes one acquainted with the background variables that accompany each student when he/she enters a classroom.Being aware of and sensitive to individual differences can help a teacher to make each student feel valued in the classroom. Putting into practice some of the principles addressed in "Affirming Diversity" can help each student to reach his/her potential.

Condition was not as expected
I bought this book as “good” condition but when I received it, it was definitely not what I would consider good condition. I would consider it more of “acceptable” or “fair” condition.

A very bold book
I purchased this text for a graduate course. While I usually do not care for expensive texts, this one is a phenomenal read. It has changed the way I view approaching and appreciating diversity in the school system. I have since read additional articles by both authors, and I very much agree with their ideas.
