Everything you need to know
This book is fantastic. It has different aspects of the tarot. The thing I like best is it describes the imagery and what to look for on your cards. It also has astrological signs and kaballa. I feel that this is a must have guide for tarot.

Great for beginners
A great and beautiful, colorful and informative book about tarot. I think it's beautifully made and very well written. It's for modern times because everything is written more modern. And it's great for beginners. I think the only thing I would complain about is I wish it had more information in it. It has a lot and it has truly enough for beginners I just wish it was a little bit more in depth.

Great Book
The content of the book is great. I have learned a lot and it is very helpful to reference. I actually exchanged it about a month after I got it because the last 20 pages fell out of the binding. I got my replacement and about 3 months after that the last few pages started falling out. It was past my return/exhange point. But overall book content is great

Very interesting
I am a beginner at tarot and saw this book as one of the top 5 recommended books in an article in tarot. It was worth the price and the information was valuable.

Eureka!
I have purchased a ridiculous amount of worthless Tarot books and taken several Tarot courses, that told me a lot but didn't tell me anything. The Ultimate Guide to Tarot, is ALL I ever really needed. This big book is comprehensive. It not only chronicles historical and esoteric aspects, it reveals meanings of the mysteries that are sure to spark ones intuition. The illustrations are spectacular. The pages of this book are thick and glossy. An art book, detailing in-depth, how-to, Tarot mastery. The Ultimate Guide to Tarot, is THE REAL DEAL!

Best tarot book ever
Just go ahead and buy it. Bought the digital version first, then had to buy a hard copy for my wife. It is really good in so many ways. I love how well she explain all arcanas, providing insight on the fundamental symbolism on each card, allowing you to read some of the more creative decks outhere. Which, btw, would help any aspiring deck designers to get the fundamental symbolism on their cards.

Ok but nothing to write home about and quite a few disconcerting errors
I wouldn't say this is the "Ultimate Guide" to Tarot. In fact, it's riddled with errors (grammatical and, for example, for IXX The Sun, it talks about the next card coming up as being XX The World when card XX is in fact Judgement, with XXI being The World. As other reviewers have also pointed, there are also some errors with the Astrological associations so it doesn't instill confidence if you're a beginner looking for a reliable source of information. You'll find yourself scratching your head and questioning things, wanting to cross reference other books. Further, some card meanings feel lacking in something. It touches on things such as Kabbala and Astrology but doesn't explain their significance or relevance. There's a lot of wasted space and it feels like the book favours looking pretty over providing much substance. A lot of people seem to like it from the reviews on here so if you feel drawn to it, go for it - it's not awful but I feel there are better, more reliable books out there. Given the price and the Liz Dean's career and experience, it's unacceptable for there to be so many errors. I've had to send it back as far as I can tell, it isn't fit for purpose and doesn't live up to its name - which is a shame, because I really wanted to like this book.

More than I expected
When I bought it for learning Tarot, it was overwhelming. Until I studied 78 degree of wisdom, I came back to this one all the time for numerology, symbols, Kabbalah, tree of life. My oh my, all make sense now. It is truely well written and ultimate guidebook for RWS system in a practical way.

Great content - But beware of errors and discrepancies
Great book, poorly edited!I bought this book from another source and only read about 1/8 of the book before deciding to send it back. Honestly, I hate sending it back because of how much I like it, but I can't support or condone the sale of a book, especially at almost $40 that carelessly puts a book to print before carefully editing it. HOWEVER, I actually really like everything else about this book on how it's laid out and would like to share those aspects of it. The quality paper and size, the vibrant pictures of the Rider-Waite Tarot deck as usually seen are all awesome along with added shots of various styles of the layout of cards for various readings, the content is easy to read and it's a great referrence book, so I need to credit the author for this. The downfall: there are way too many mistakes. Some are discrepancies in the content ie. pages 52 with 44 as I'll show in a some of the pages some of the errors found. As shown, page 52 describing symbols under the Hierophant, writes about the red roses, cross referrencing them with the "roses on the Empresses Gown", which is for one incorrect as it's also stated under the Empresses description of symbols as shown in the 3rd picture of page 44 indicating the Pomegranates on the Empresses Gown. You'll also see on page 44 the description of the Laurel Wreath on the Empresses head, naming all the other cards in the deck that also have a laurel wreath, but leaves out the King of Pentacles on page 174. Obviously this was another oversight but shouldn't have been. There are typos such as on page 50, noting Temperance as card IV when it's actually XIV. On page 59, "the the" are written together. On page 66 is noting the Moon as card # XVII when it's actually XVIII.I'd love to see a revision of this book.

Excellent
Great book! It's large and has colour photos of all the cards. Great for the beginner, but actually I think this book will prove as helpful to the experienced reader, as has info on astrology, chakras, kabbala as well as looking at the symbology on the card. It's a book that you can pick up for a bit of quick reference, but equally can be studied a little more for depth needed. The photos are based on the Rider Waite Smith deck, usually considered the best deck to train with given the imagery on the cards. If you are starting out with the Tarot, this is a great book to get.

Easy to understand
This book is very informative and looks relatively easy to read and comprehend. I like how the book is larger than most tarot books Iโve seen and itโs coloured pictures are beautifully vibrant as I trouble with the classic โbookโ style with black and white pages. Only negative is that mine turned up with scratches on the front of the book
