Trigon SportsBattery Operated Multi-Sport Scoreboard & Timer Black, 24x 10x 16

I purchased this scoreboard to occasionally use for sporting events,especially basketball, but I am also using it to place in my "man cave". (I thought it was a cool idea, and I was going for an authentic look. I can keep score for various sports or games at home as well.) This scoreboard is great! It really looks nice and professional. It definitely does what it's advertised for, and then some.The only minor caveats for this scoreboard involve indicating a "double bonus" foul shooting in basketball mode, and the alarm clock function. Although you are unable to indicate a "double bonus" per se, the foul numbers change from green to red on the 5th foul, and continue to stay red up to the 9th foul in a half. A workaround could be to turn on the bonus indicator when a team reaches its 10th team foul, and leave the foul number at 9. Depending on the rules, most know that there is a bonus foul situation with the seventh foul; this could be also applied if the rules you're playing under start a bonus situation on the 5th foul - and the foul number changes color at 5 anyway, so it works out! (I'm not picky, but again, I'm going for authenticity here.)The alarm clock feature is minimally disappointing, as it only shows "military time" (0-24 hrs.), and not civilian time (0-12 hrs.). This is a minor quibble, as I wanted the scoreboard to show the time in my basement.This scoreboard is great for a gym, where it can be put on a tabletop, and can actually fit in a deep bookcase (although I'm debating about buying the stand). The remote is handy for both situations. The numbers are easily visible, and the horn is plenty loud enough for a gym (but do not sound the horn in your house!)The staff at Trigon Sports was very helpful in assisting with this purchase. While considering this purchase, I noticed that there were many conflicting reports regarding the features of the scoreboards on Amazon. Trigon Sports was excellent in explaining its features, and I trust that they will be helpful in the future should any problems arise.Should you need a scoreboard for just about any sport or reason, this is a great choice. It's a bit pricey, but its versatility makes it worth the cost

Out of the box this product looks great. plugged it in and it lights up nice and bright! However while it's plugged in I cant tell if it's charging the battery or not and the battery indicator on the back doesn't show any indication either...seems to be stuck at 2 bars of charge. wont know if it's charging or not till after I use it in a game. The scoreboard works great and the alarm on it is loud. Another minor issue is the remote control it comes with came broken in the box. see above pics. Overall I give it a 3 out of 5 so far. will update once I use this in a game.Review: I've now owned this for about 2 years, the scoreboard still works great, overall rating would go to a 3.5 for me. Battery indicator has never functioned correctly so I never know how much charge it has, but my time using it, it hasn't died on me once.
