Such a fantastic read. Highly reccomend.
Incredible read indeed, which is very thought provoking and practical. I grew up in the 80's and became enamoured with TOPY and its philosophy, which is super relevant in todays world. Crowley knew back then how society would evolve. This book explains it quite efficiently & in practical ways.chEErs,93

Thee Temple of Phallacious Youth
"We had been constructing TOPY initially "to see what happens" when demystified occult and shamanic practices are released non-hierarchically into popular culture." -- Genesis P-Orridge, "The Process is the Product"The publication of THEE PSYCHICK BIBLE: Thee Apocryphal Scriptures ov Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and Thee Third Mind ov Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth finally gives the opportunity, after all these years, to read Genesis Breyer P-Orridge's attempts to produce "the most profound new manual on practical magick, taking it from its Crowleyan empowerment of the Individual to a next level of realization to evolve our species."It's all surprisingly traditional, after all [albeit definitely of the "left hand" path, what with section on the mystical significance of facial money-shots], leading me to ask what all the fuss was about. The answer, I think, can be found in a neat little antimony I recently saw on a New or Alternate Right blog [if anyone recognizes, or is, the author, by all means let me in on it]:Liberals think that the average run of folks is just fine, and any mediocrity or evil is the result of bad social structures, which can be addressed.Conservatives think that the average guy is a pretty sorry lot, and the only good you can expect to get out of them requires the guidance of a more or less stern social system, with more or less freedom, social or mystical, wisely doled out to those showing proper qualifications. It's clear from P-Orridge's statement just quoted, about "empowerment of the Individual to a next level of realization to evolve our species," as well as the reverent name-checking of Wilhelm Reich among his inspirations, that Gen falls squarely into the first alternative, occult division, along with a parade of mystical goofballs from the stern and dignified Steiner through the Irish tricksters Leary and MacKenna to the outright buffoonery of P-Orridge.How much longer, how many more times, are we to be told that "humanity has advanced" beyond the need of mystical qualifications, or rather would be advancing if only all the social "shackles," Our Freud's "thin veneer of civilization," were thrown off?You don't even need to be a crusty old Traditionalist to get it: see, as we have blogged frequently, the disdain of public school educated Alan Watts himself for dirty, let-it-all-hang-out hippies.Which is not to say this isn't an impressive work of occult, or "magickal" if one insists, teachings and technique. As for Gen him/herself, it might be said that the tragi-comic parade of stunts and accidents that has made up his career since illustrates Evola's observation in The Hermetic Tradition: Symbols and Teachings of the Royal Art that the true mage not only shuns and sneers at fame and fortune [although Gen is proud to claim "crucial influence on youth culture throughout the 1980s, popularizing tattooing, body piercing, "acid house" raves, and other ahead-of-the-curve cultic flirtations and investigations"] but, due to psychic retribution from work in other realms, may even be singularly unlucky in this one.As for the book itself, it's very well made, self-jacketed paperback, although I could do without the glossy, coated paper, which is really only suitable for illustrations; however, I realize that many people think it makes a book "special" so, whatever.

The P-Orridge book that shook up my life and planted the seeds of that change was Painful but Fabulous
I'd say this book changed my life, but it was already changed by the time I read it. The P-Orridge book that shook up my life and planted the seeds of that change was Painful but Fabulous, which I now see is largely unavailable unless you want to pay a million dollars for it. I'm glad I got mine when I did for 24.95.Anyway, Thee Psychick Bible is a good—and cheaper—substitute, albeit without the great pictures.I've come to many of the same conclusions about life, art, magic, gender, control, freedom, etc that are found in these essays. It serves me as a kind of anthology of my own thoughts on these subjects. I thumb through it now & then to remind me of what I believe. It's one of those books I wish I'd read a hundred years before I did. It would have saved me from a world of hurt, much of it self-imposed.Anonymous. History of the Temple of Psychic Youth
From the years 1981 to 1991 musician Genesis Breyer P-Orridge founded the Temple of Psychick Yourh. It was meant to last only 10 years. The Temple’s purpose was so help, people wake up and shake off the shackles society has put us in. Their main vehicle for reaching this enlightenment was the use of Magick, Art, Meditstion and music. With Magick they took a Chaos Magick approach which was to demystify and make those oh so secret magical techniques available to all.The organizTion was inspired by the artistic magical techniques of Austin Osman Spare. The most notable and widely practiced technique was that of the sigil. The sigil is made by first writing out your statement of Magical intent then going through and crossing out all the repeating letters. Those letter are then arranged into a design. Finally the design is charged then destroyed.Their headquarters in Britain used to have it’s members make sigil on the 23 rd hour of the 23. Day of the month. The sigil were usually magic aimed at self improvement . There was another technique called the cut up technique where in everything is collages from all things going on during the moment. The technique was developed by William Burroughs on Brian Gysin. The Temple also was involved in social change. Using magic and protests they managed to close down the Dolphinarium in Britain. The place was known for its inhuman treatment of dolphins. They also use music, and videos to promote change. But things did not go well for the author. Often times magical orders were accused of ritual abuse of young children and satanism . This was also happening during the Satanic Panic. This lead to Scotland Yard raiding his home and confiscating his belonging. The author lived in exile in Kathmandu helping a Tibetan refugees. Afterward he would return to America. After the folding of the Temple there were legal issues as to using the name and the trademark cross. Incredible adventure.
