This is a gift, so I have no idea if the game has ivory colored pieces or colored ones. I did not open it. What I can tell you is that it was delivered quickly, and it was well wrapped. It's a fun game, and I image the colors of the pieces won't matter. The box is smaller than the one I had as a kid, but then, I am older than dirt.P.S. - The game has been opened, and the game pieces are primary colored, rather than ivory. Doesn't bother me one way or another, but thought I would include it in this review. Evidently, it matters to some. It was a hit.

I had this game growing up and wanted to find it for my kids. I'm always nervous ordering a product that I might be able to find at the dollar store for cheap, but this was a good value for the price. The pieces are quite fragile, and not made for smaller children. This comes with the small metal pick. When you get the box in the mail it feels like quality, so you can feel confident this brand is a good choice if you're looking for Jack Straws.

This game turned out to be a real hit with my wife and kids. It is quite fun and challenging for everyone. The only think I didn't personally like was that the game bits were all colored plastic. I would have preferred a plain ivory colored set, but that is just a matter of taste.All in all, a good value for the money and a fun game that can be played with young and old alike and with almost any number of players. You could even play it solitaire and try for your best score with the least movements (you "lose" your turn if you move a piece you aren't trying to remove).

Had these as a kid and always enjoyed them. Little more interesting than classic pick up sticks.

Used to play this years ago as a kid. Now its fun for the whole family. Teaches the kids patience. After all, what else are we doing during the pandemic?

Great retro game in a nice small box. We keep ours in our caravan. Lovely family game for those rainy days. Comes with a selection of small plastic tools (rakes/saws/hammers/choppers) that you have to pick up with a small metal hooked gadget without moving any of the other pieces. Suitable for any age with a steady hand. There are small parts that could be a choking hazzard and the sticks could easily be broken so i'd keep it away from toddlers etc.Overall it's a great family activity that keeps the kids off those computer games :)

I just had to buy this when I saw it, takes me back to my childhood great game great quality. I wasn’t disappointed when I received it

My Grandad bought me a set of this when I was a child so I decided to get one for mine. They enjoy playing it and it's good for hand-eye co-ordination as you have to free the objects without disturbing any of the others. It keeps the children quiet when we play as they concentrate but you have to make sure that you supervise and pack it away again when you've finished otherwise the children play other games with all the pieces and as they are quite fragile they can snap easily.

I loved this simple game as a child and bought it for my 10 year old granddaughter as a Christmas table gift. We had a lot of fun and are still playing with it into January. It tests logical thinking and manual dexterity. Very happy with my purchase.

I was looking forward to playing this game with my grandchildren as I had one growing up. However it is missing the hook which is essential to pick up the tools. Can’t see how to contact the seller for a replacement?
