Be prepared
I was very impressed with the detail of this book. I had no idea there was so much to learn about this fascinating place. As the author, Elisabeth Sanz states, if you are considering traveling to Machu Picchu, one of the most significant monuments in the world, then this book is a must have. The true mystery of the place is that no one really knows why it was built or what it was used for, but according to many accounts there is a very spiritual feeling connected to the site and means something different to each person, an experience like no other. It has been on my list for quite a while, but after reading this book, I see that there must be some detailed planning involved and you can 't just show up. It's isolated and if you are going to walk the Inca trail, you have to be ready to have an intense hike, be prepared for the temperatures of this almost 8000 foot elevation.I don't know if this book is in print, but if it is, it would probably be a good idea to take a print copy with you.

What about pictures?
This guide is informative and interesting. Valuable information is included. Though when traveling I always have my passport with me at all times, whether I sleep in a hotel or hike, I am sure that many readers will value to find information such as"... Along with your entrance ticket to Machu Picchu, you will need to bring your passport. You will not be allowed to enter Machu Picchu without a passport. When you leave Machu Picchu to have a snack, drink, or use the bathroom you will have to show your passport to regain entry into Machu Picchu..."and, absolutely, super-cool:"... There is an unmarked stand just outside of the gates to Machu Picchu where you can have your passport stamped with the Machu Picchu stamp. ..." Boy, would i like to have a Mchu Picchu stamp in my passport. Awesome information.Author Elisabeth Sanz addresses every topic which seems important, like Altitude (I have traveled Tibet and Kashmir and have seen people down with altitude sickness ), The Sun, Mosquitoes, and PRICES. There are no ATM machines and credit cards are not accepted!!! She also presents the history of Machu Picchu, description of hiking trails, and fun facts. Love the information! What I missed was - P I C T UR E S. Considering how easy it is to include pictures that is baffling. As it is I am not even sure if the author visited Machu Piccu. At first I thought that maybe the taking of pictures was forbidden, because the author writes, " ... Around that same time, two other tourists were arrested for taking naked pictures of each other at Machu Picchu..." but probably the issue was that they tried to "naked pictures" because the author also writes, "... A Secret Temple If you are one of the lucky 400 who get to travel to Huayna Picchu, make sure that you do not just climb up, take a few photos and climb back down. There is a secret temple you can hike to. The temple is called the temple of the moon and is on the far side of Huayna Picchu..."Considering that only 2,500 people per day are allowed to visit Machu Picchu per day, and that the adventure is costly, this topic needs to be addressed better.Quite a few reviewer have complained about various spelling error and grammatical errors. Though usually I do not comment on these, I was struck by the fact the title contained a spelling error. That should not happen.Gisela Hausmann, author & blogger

Great information about the ruins at Machu Picchu
I have been fascinated by Incan culture since I was in high school. I intend to travel to south America sometime in the next few years. This book has tons of great information in it that will be very useful to me as I travel through the ruins. I especially like the part about how the temples where built very interesting info about the ways in which the Incan builders where able to construct such amazing temples without the use of the wheel. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone interested in South America and the Incas specifically.

A very informative guide to going around Machu Picchu
This book provides a complete guide to getting around Machu Picchu. the part that I like the most about this book is the list of the climate and temperature for each month. It also details the things that you must prepare for on your trip. All in all, this is a very good guide if you're thinking about going to Machu Picchu

disappointed
I was very disappointed as it was not what I expected. I wanted an actual guide to the ruin telling me all the features to see and explaining them. This book does not do that. Mostly what is there was in my other guide book.

This book sucks - it is clearly all cut and pasted from a website, as they forgot to take out the URL links etc. It's got no detail, is rife with spelling and punctuation errors. And so forth...

A low quality GCSE pamphlet
This book is really terrible. In fact it's not really a book, it's like a student GCSE project. It would probably be graded about a C. The grammar is awful and there are typos everywhere, as if the author hasn't bothered to proof-read it but expects readers to pay for it.
