Not that easy to use

I was excited to update my battery in my iPad 2. Only to find out the iPad 2 has NO screws to remove. The only way to open it up, you must use a heat gun and melt away the glue that holds it together. This is all done at your own risk as there’s a great chance of breaking the LCD performing this task. Being my iPad still works I opted to return this kit.Every repair shop I called mentioned that exact same thing. Unless your iPad is completely dead I don’t recommend trying to update your battery.

I did not feel comfortable installing myself, so I waited till we came home from FL and had it professionally installed April 2019. The iPad has not seen much use since then, but seemed to be working. Tuesday I took it out to use for contacts and it turned on and then the thing developed a huge bulge and the screen lifted up. Yesterday I took it to the company who installed the battery and they do not guarantee batteries from elsewhere. They also told me not to use it or it could burst into flames and the iPad could not be repaired. They are sending it out to salvage/recycle. I know there was a big problem with some smart phone batteries and I feel like this needs to be place on your site so others will know of the problem. Miriam Cahill-Yeaton

This kit contains all one needs for the replacement. Go online for instructions and just simply follow. Mechanics has always been a strong point , but with no computer experience i replaced the iPad 2 battery.
