Scholastic Dictionary of Synonyms, Antomnyms, and Homonyms

This small paperback had a 2001 copyright and was sold "used in excellent condition." In fact, except for a small scratch, it was like new--but of course the glue holding it together was 21 years old, so I opened it and broke it in very carefully. Looks ok and no pages fell out. I noticed it seemed to be an excellent compilation, and checking again, I see it appears to be a reprint from the original 1953 Webster's Synonyms, Antonyms, Homonyms, thus, an excellent resource if one does not need words created since 1953--there was no suggestion of updated editions.

Primary education is improved significantly when students understand, both the definition and the use of, synonyms and antonyms. This book is a significant aid in getting the points across. I highly recommend this book or one similar to it, to all primary grade teachers.

This is a great book to have around for any type of writing or home schooling. It shows you the different forms of words that sound the same, but are spelled differently based on what the word means.

...and it appears there is a wormhole somewhere in your IT etherland. They are super for my non-English tutoring students. When added to the little Webster's black and white Word Guide, it's a great item for their backpacks here at the Comm College. No batteries nor do they shatter if dropped.

Most kids do this online nowadays. Still it's an important book to have when your kids have to do work but they aren't allowed computer time at home or school. It might not seem like it but these are still important concepts and rules for your kids. We always have it on hand just in case.

This reference book is a wonderful writing aid for students in grades second through fifth. I have used it with fourth graders and it has increased their writing vocabulary greatly. It is written and organized in a clear and precise manner which allows for easy access.

For anyone who wishes to improve their writing this book is an extremely good resource. Also if you would just like to enrich your vocabulary then this serves that purpose very well.

Very good one, useful for my school going daughter. It may be a handy book for the elders too.
