If you have back issues, don’t wait to use a support pillow. I now wake more rested with less pain. It’s less stiff than some pillows. Bought this one on a great sale

I thought this pillow would help relieve my neck and back pain but it just causes more pain as the firmness of the memory foam hurts the side of my face after a few minutes. My head fits in the concave but the rise at the back of my neck is too high. It would have been better if it had been a graduated incline. I guess you have to try it for yourself.
