Running great no problems, don’t think I will ever buy a Gould pump again

I bought this pump to see if the quality and longevity were any better than the previous pumps I've used for irrigation and for running water through riverside fountains. The previous pumps worked fine for a few years of fairly constant use during the summer, but after two or three years they always began to slow down and eventually make some noise before they stopped working. But they were less expensive, only 1.5 Hp, and were readily available at HD so I used them as disposable pumps. Well, to my surprise this red lion is just barely giving me a trickle of water. I've tried letting it pump on it's own and I've also applied some end/head pressure to see if that would enable it to get running better. No luck. Maybe this one's a lemon, but what a huge disappointment.

Is exactly as stated. Had a red lion 1 hp and this is 1 1/2 hp. Had plenty of pressure and volume

I replaced a shallow well pump using this pump, we use it for watering our yard. I have been pleased with the design, I purchased the version with brass impellers, and I’m glad I did, my considerations were based upon the amount of residual sand in the well every spring, although I filter the water before going to the yard, it still has to pass through the pump. I’m very pleased with the pressure, and the build quality!

Amazing water pump. With my water supply needing to be pulled this pump does the job for the pressure I need. Easy to use and set up.

Pump works better than expected. In my opinion it is very well made. It is quiet, runs very smooth.
