My contractor installed a plastic check valve, which failed after about 3 months of use. Ordered this one but installed another plastic one while I waited for it to arrive. It arrived and the new plastic valve failed... weird. But installed the brass one and it is working great.

This is a high quality item per spec. Gets the job done for my well pump.

Might work for metal pipe, don't know, but do not get for PVC MPT connection. Threads are too shallow because of internal structure. Either have to tighten down enough to shave off the threaded insert, which the shavings then get jammed in the valve, or if you thread it until it hits the internal parts, it leaks, washes out the pipe dope and then no check valve function.
