Quality, solid built, works as advertised, exceeded my expectations.
This is an excellent product. Its a sturdy well made charger that works as advertised. It charges the battery by itself or when the battery is attached to the radio. It fully charged my original Vertex batteries and my newly purchased batteries in around 3 hours to a voltage of 8.6 VDC for my Vertex and 8.2 VDC for my replacement batteries. I have 2) Yaesu/ Vertex VX-7R radios. Highly recommend it if you have a VX - (5, 6 or 7) FNB-80LI Battery. Yes, I would highly recommend this charger, it actually exceeded my expectations for quality and functionality.

Good replacement for original
Lost the docking station for my VX-6R. Works perfect. No issues. Radio fits the cradle fine. Low price.

Seems to work good. Cord kinda short.
Review date: 1-23-2024. Revision: A. Good: So far so good. This is one rare case were the aftermarket version, works better than the original. BTW. If the battery won't run the radio. And that same battery won't charge. This means you've over discharged the battery. If you over discharged the battery, then leave the overly discharged battery, in the radio. Move the chargers cord from the charger, to the Radio, wait for, "now charging" to show up on the radios display. Let it charge for at least one minute. Reconnect charger cord back to the charger. Now the battery should charge. If not, repeat, but leave the battery in the radio for 10 minutes or longer. In some unusual conditions, sometimes the battery needs to be left in for overnight charging. Bad: The charger cord is kinda short in length.

Perfect for the Yaesu VX-6R
Works perfectly for my Yaesu VX-6R. Can also charge my spare battery without having to be on the radio. The mounting screw holes are a nice touch.

For my HT Radio
I bought a used radio that did not have a charging cradle. This works fine. I use it several times a week.

Very low quality
Immediately noticed how low quality this feels. The plastic is thin and light and the dc outlet is very loose when charging cord is plugged in. Putting my vx-6r into the charger, it would only charge when held to the rear. Otherwise the light would not appear. Additionally, it would only work with an aftermarket battery, not the original yaesu. Regardless, it is junk because I’m not going to hold my radio in all day long to charge it. I am returning and already bought the yaesu brand charger. It was over double the price even when on sale but it is worth every penny. It has a quality feel and works perfectly with all batteries. Don’t bother with this knockoff.

Holds and charges radio at same time
This does a great job of holding my radio and charging it at the same time; no plugging and unplugging the power connector, I just drop it in the holder (or grab it).

Plug good, dock bad.
The power adapter charges the VX-6R directly with the battery in the radio. It does NOT charge the battery with the dock powered, whether or not the battery is in the radio. The model that came with my factory-sealed VX-6R was SBR-40LI and that is not listed as a supported battery.
