Thank you Indira ji for this. It's the best translation in english of our baba's pothi. Highly recommended for those who want a line by line translation of the original Shri Sai Satcharita. This one's definitely a great translation without the unnecessary commentary that exists in the English version by Shri NV Gunaji, with all due respects.

Very Good book giving detailed translations word by word of each Ovi or Poetic line . The author Indira Kher has painstakingly gone through the Original Marathi written by Hemadpant in Marathi Ovi Or Poem .A must book for every library. The author was Editor of Sai Leela Magzine for 2 and half years and was a English Professor besides being a Maharashtrian with impeccable credentials . There is a condensed version of English by N.V.Gunaji published by Sai Sansthan Trust which is also very good. Both books can be purchased.

This book has a different spiritual aura around it. It is advisable to read this everyday as much as possible. It creates a bridge between the reader and Shree Sai. If read with full focus, one can feel Shree Sai conversing with the reader.

For the follower of Sai Baba this is the Bible, the Geeta, the Vedas, the Torah, and any other Holy book you care to name. To read the Shri Sai Satcharita is to fall in love with Sai Baba, and that means falling in love with God.

Interessantissimo racconto di vari episodi della vita di Sai Baba di Shirdi, intessuto di stimolanti considerazioni sulla vita spirituale. Decisamente preferibile alla versione condensata che è stata pubblicata in italiano (che però è comunque interessante). Consigliatissimo per chi segue un cammino spirituale, anche diverso (come nel mio caso) da quello seguito dai discepoli di Sai Baba di Shirdi.

Cet ouvrage est très riche. Il contient des anecdotes sur la vie de Shirdi Sai Baba, ses actions, ses guérisons, ses enseignements... tel que reporté, avec sa bénédiction, par un de ses disciple : Hemadpant. Ce livre contient de nombreuses informations sur la spiritualité indienne et leur façon de penser. A travers la lecture, on se sent transporté dans la Moquée ou vivait Shirdi Sai Baba, devant son feu sacré, devant lui, dans une époque en dehors du temps ou il est toujours présent. La lecture de ce livre est considéré comme un acte sacré. Des dévots de Sai Baba lisent un chapitre tous les jours, d'autres pour certaines occasions... Cela aurait des effets bénéfiques à différents niveau. Pour avoir effectué la lecture du livre complet, un chapitre par jour, je peut dire qu'en effet ce n'est pas une lecture "classique". On sent aussi la ferveur qui accompagne ces histoires, de ceux qui les ont vécus, les lisent et les contemplent, et cela se communique. Shirdi Sai Baba est un des saint les plus aimé de l'Inde. Sa photo est partout. Sa présence toujours la. A travers ce livre, ce qu'il donne, on se relie aussi à sa présence. Je mettrais néanmoins 2 petites remarques : - Ce livre requiert un bon niveau en anglais, et l'utilisation répétée de termes indiens (même si il y a un index) implique parfois de s'accrocher, bien que rien ne soit insurmontable, ni indispensable de tout comprendre dans les moindres détails. - La renonciation présentée pourrait peut être être mal interprété par un occidental. Il s'agit de prendre les choses avec du recul et d'adapter l'essence de l'enseignement à sa culture, sa tradition, sa propre nature. Je recommande ce livre, si mieux connaitre, et vous relier à Shirdi Sai Baba vous intéresse. Un autre petit livre peut être intéressant avant la lecture de celui-ci : Vie et paroles de Saï Baba de Shirdi : Un saint indien, de Erik Sablé Je terminerai en disant qu'il y a un autre Sai Baba : Satya Sai Baba (qui se proclamais la réincarnation de Shirdi Sai Baba), qui, à mon sens, est assez différent de celui-ci. Sans vouloir rentrer dans une polémique, je pense qu'en regardant bien, on voit certains point fondamentaux très divergent entre eux deux. Shirdi Sai Baba n'était ni musulman, ni hindous. Il est au delà des traditions. Il est universel. Il porte l'amour, et l'amour n'appartient pas à un peuple, une culture ou une religion. L'amour et la conscience touche l'humain, aussi, le message de Baba dépasse à mon sens le simple contexte indien. Si vous vous sentez attiré, ce livre pourrait bien vous toucher.
