Colonial Banknote Set B

I bought these for a living history event. Each one is a different amount, shilling, pence, dollar, etc. They are each from a different state/colony. I am trusting that they are historically accurate. Cannot verify that since I was not alive 240 yrs ago. 😂. Used them today to show to children who found them interesting. Will be using them for American Revolutionary reinactment

Great for reenactment, collecting, or as an educational tool. They have the "crispy" feel of old parchment paper and have an aged color and ink that make them look very authentic. One has a coin-sized void in the print that appears to be a printing error. It is not. Historically, these notes were vouchers for real gold and silver. They represented solid metal in a bank. When the banknotes were redeemed and the actual gold or silver was collected, the bank would punch or cut a hole in the middle of the voucher to indicate that it had been cashed in and was now void. The hole is part of the design for historical accuracy.

I teach Civics to 7th graders and bought these to show what the revolutionary money looked like.They help students understand that there was no standard money, and that was one of the many reasons our new country needed a new constitution!Anyone who is interested in this time in American history will enjoy these , nice enough to frame!

As an avid collector of currency I was very satisfied with this purchase. They feel and look very real. I'm impressed.. definnently buying more money here.
