MSR Alpine Stainless Steel Stowaway Camping Pot

Loving this pot! It's MSR so I know it's good stuff. I've owned MSR stuff for the last 20 years and I still have it all. They make great quality items and this is no exception. The pot is heavier than I expected and thankfully so. There are a few items I can't backpack without. Tent, sleeping bag, stove, pot. Good to know this will be around when I need it. It has a great contraption for closing the lid and even under force from stuffing it full of gear it holds well and I don't worry about it breaking. It packs small and fits really well with the wood fired cookstove Portable Stainless Steel Wood Burning Camp Stove - Wolfyok(TM) Outdoor Firewood / Wood Camp Stove for Camping, Hunting, Backpacking, Picnic . If you put the stove in the pot it doesn't fit perfect vertically and will leave the lid high a few millimeters but it doesn't matter because it clamps together and holds it tight which will stop it from wearing the pot through rubbing. If you consider this option you'll have a nice little combo for cooking. The pot and stove are a great combo and both are affordable. It's a little heavier than I expected but marginally. It doesn't need maintenance and there are no parts to loose. The lid latch seconds as a handle. Not only is this high quality but it has engraving on the lid, the pot, etc... I look forward to the years of using this little pot. I paid full price happily for this item.

I purchased this pot to replace my 775ml MSR pot. Which while it was great was in need of replacing due to use. I also am now cooking for more than one person usually so I wanted something that I could use for two people. Pros: - Well constructed Stainless Steel - Durable Cons: - Not the lightest pot - Liquids tend to dribble These are great for camping as they are quite compact. The build quality is seems solid, however they are not the lightest pot of this size on the market. Probably lean towards titanium for backpacking, but for camping these work well. The pot is hinged to lock in the pot cover and handle. Great design and easy to unlock and secure. I prefer not to cook in a cup or extremely small pot. If I can fit this in my pack and I can easily. It works for me. You don't have to be afraid of taking a scouring pad to it to clean it out like you do with the non stick pots. This pot is a package in itself. The pot boils water and is large enough to fry food and everything stays in. Did I mention the lid doubles as a plate. All in all, the pot is tough and durable. You can cook over an open fire or on a stove. I would easily purchase this again .. its just a tough little pot with no frills.

OK - THIS is JUST PERFECT. I'm packing a 3-5 day Survival Bag for 2 people, and purchased this one in the 775ml size ( about 3 1/3 U.S. Cups) . I looked at many before deciding but felt this looked like good quality for the money. BUT the kicker was that I was also going to buy a small portable wood / alcohol stove. There are also many of those, and while they all "look" the same, they all have slightly different dimensions from different manufacturers / sellers. So anyway, after reading one backpackers advise about how the Ohuhu Portable Stainless Steel Wood Burning Camping Stove (size 5.3 x 5.3 x3"H) nests PERFECTLY inside THIS MSR 775 ml pot and then both inside the black bag, I thought I'd give those two models a try. They came yesterday -- and not only is the pot a very nice quality pot, small, and perfect for my purposes, the Ohuhu Portable Wood Stove (also nice quality) fits PERFECTLY inside this pot just as the other reviewer said. This makes for a very small but quality pot and stove that is both lightweight, good quality and very EASY and small to put into a backpack to have both pot and stove in one. VERY HAPPY i got both of these. Pot is the perfect size to fire up water or a couple cans of beans. And it sits nicely on top of the Ohuhu Stove. There are probably several sizes of those stoves so if interested, look for the Ohuhu that is 5.3" x 5.3" x 3"H and weights 14.2 oz - that's the one that fits inside this pot.

Works great, both frying, and boiling dehydrated food. The 1.1 L is pretty big great for when you have to cook for 2 or 3. On a trip to the Triple Divide in Glacier National Park we fed 3 people from this pot for a few days. I have cooked quinoa for 4 people in this pot on a backpacking trip on the Catskills. It's not a massive serving for each and we had all cooked a hotdog over the fire too but it is much bigger than you'll need for a solo trip. The price is good. I love that you can stow the leftovers for lunch or breakfast the next morning. The only draw back is that it is a bit on the heavy side. If you have the money to spare I would go with the Snowpeak - Cook N Save Titanium Pot. I was on a small budget so this pot did the trick for my belly and my wallet. The Snowpeak - Cook N Save Titanium Pot half the weight and you can still save you food. You can get a larger pot for half the weight, but it's twice the price. For the money this pot has done me good. Happy Hiking!

Goed en (hopelijk) onverwoestbaar pan. Ik gebruik hem ook voor benzinebrander en kampvuur.

Auf der Suche nach Kochtöpfen für eine 8 Wochen lange Bikepackingtour bin ich bei diesem Produkt fündig geworden. Größe Gewicht und Funktionalität passen für mich. Es sind zwar Edelstahltöpfe aber die erste Testtour haben sie bestanden. Cool finde ich das es einen Deckel gibt und der Griff auch als Verschluss dient und so den Deckel beim Transport auf dem Topf hält. Ich Habe mir nur Nudeln mit Pesto gekocht und den Rest dann im Topf transportiert. Das hat gut geklappt, flüssigeres wird meiner Meinung nach auslaufen. Klare Kaufempfehlung von meiner Seite für meine Anfprderungen.

Awesome little pot!!! I keep it in the warmer at work and my food stays hot and ready for feast at lunch. Also great for camping or hiking etc. Also very easy to warm up food on portable gas stoves etc. Lid seals nice & tight eliminating spills with stews etc. Maybe I'll buy a couple more. Great gift idea that will be used for many years to come.
