This is the 2nd of these whole house fans that I have purchased. I installed the 1st one by myself. Simple. I had the 2nd one installed by someone else because I was recovering from surgery. It too installed very easily. Love the new single gang switch for Hi/Lo as well as timer. I considered the wireless model, but in the end figured I'd just attach the remote to the wall anyway so I wouldn't lose it like we often do with other remotes. I called the 888 number to ask some questions and a human answered and provided all the answers I needed. High confidence in this product and the support behind it. This is a must have for homes without air conditioning and a climate that might be hot in the daytime but often cools off at night. Highly recommended.

I’ve had whole house fans before. This is quite and very efficient my wife had not experience one before and was completely blown away as to how quickly it cooled both upstairs and down stairs. I chose to have it professionally installed and I look forward to seeing the savings on my energy bill.After dealing with other sellers, I highly recommend this company having superior customer service and a very well made product.

Delivered ahead of original estimated delivery date, packed well and seems like a quality product. Only negative is the description should specify the included controller is hard wired. No remote included so you should factor that both into the cost and installation time.

I purchased this product 1 year ago and had it installed.. it worked fantastic and superb for 1 year. Fresh air in the house and greatly reduced electric bill.. fast forward one year, and there was a problem with a blade / bracket causing the entire unit to malfunction. I was a little surprised because the product is sturdy, strong and impressive. But things happen and the bracket broke.. I immediately contacted the seller and he sent a replacement on the spot... amazing service , solid product (things happen). If u want to buy a whole house fan, I absolutely recommend this seller. I am super impressed with customer service.

My house is only 2000 sq ft, a small ranch style home. Thought, if I bought double the draw rating it would give me a nice airflow through the entire house. located the intake centrally, installation was as easy as they said, I do like the baffled intake vent it is well engineered. I have plenty of ventilation in the attic. Remembered the noisy attic fans of my youth, and according to the listing this would be way quieter and more efficient. Quieter yes, more efficient, not so much-even on the highest setting and the windows closest to the intake closed, barely a perceptible draw throughout the house. For $1000+ I really expected more. Will be replacing with a standard attic fan next summer---Will learn to live with the noise level ):^(

This would bring and changing a new fresh outdoor air into the whole house in no time. Our family is living healthier. The QA-Deluxe-5500(W) has far exceeded my expectations. One week after I installed it the inside temperature peaked at 24 degrees cooler than the outside temperature without running the air conditioner. Installation was somewhat difficult due to the configuration of our attic and mysterious issues while routing Romex inside the wall. Your mileage will definitely vary. Installation in some houses will be relatively easy while other houses will be quite difficult. Two tips that might help your installation - First, I nailed a 2x4 to the joist on one side of the damper, and a 1x3 on the opposite joist on the other side of the damper. The damper then fit snugly between the wood. The advantage of this is that all four screws holding the grill will now be in wood. Second tip, I MacGyver'd a lightweight mock up of the fan using scrap tile membrane, cardboard and duct tape. This made it much easier to position the hanger perfectly in a "challenging" location.ADDENDUM (6/22/2021): I replaced the timer wall switch with a TOPGREENER Smart Switch Wi-Fi Scene Controller. It's seven programmable buttons can be used for custom countdown times. Better yet, the switch gives you on/off control through the TopGreener phone app AND it can be linked to Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

My husband and I live in Northern California and had been debating on a whole house fan for almost a year and my only regret is not pulling the trigger earlier! We live in an area that frequently hits over 100's during the summer but 60-70's at night. We have an older house that retains heat and often by the time we turned our AC on at 5:00pm when we got home from work, our house would maybe drop from 85 to 82 by the time I sleep. With the whole house fan, we typically turn the fan on high for a couple hours when the temperature drops outside and we're able to drop our house to 75 by the time we sleep. We leave it on low over night and usually wake up to a nice and cool 70 degree house that barely gets over 80 during the day. If the temperature is 95 or below, we don't even need to use our AC. The high setting is quiet enough I can have a conversation under it and low is quiet enough for me to sleep. I'm so glad we took the plunge and would recommend anyone on the fence to do it!
