Great for little engineers in the making.
This was a Christmas gift for our five year old Grandson. He is very adept at building intricate complicated marble runs, since he was 3. Bear in mind GraviTrax is recommended for 8 years and over. So if you are buying this for a child that isn’t used to building tracks remember what age it suggested for. My grandson found this challenging at first owing to the complications of building the track. (remember he is 5yrs old) He had a little help from his parents to start with to encourage him. However GraviTrax is a super building set for budding engineers, it gives my grandson great pleasure when he has spent hours building and getting the track to run the marbles. GraviTrax is a good quality, medium priced, toy/activity for children, with plenty add on sections to purchase. In this day and age of tablets, video games, iPads etcGraviTrax is a super building mind taxing set.

Not worth the money
My son had this as an additional peice for his gravitrax starter set. Though he thinks its great i dont feel its worth the money as its just a few pieces that you fix together to make one piece for the track.

Needs some care to set up.
Purchased two of those. First elastic band used had the catapult knocked out of position on the set and the ballbearing cleared the length of the table. We got it working properly after that.A few expansion packs were bought and most were two each, only two sets which weren’t the same item had the white frame supports that weren’t yet popped out the plastic frame like the old model kits. Only those two needed a lump on the same part trimmed with a knife. I’m sure one of them was the catapult. Not a real problem.A fun addition to the set.

If it doesn't work try a different elastic band
Not sure about this one. First impression was it's a rubbish addon, the catapult did move freely at first, but a bit of manipulation got it going. Then the first of the supplied rubber band must have been a bit loose, there was not enough force to fling the ball. Tried another rubber band, or maybe just removing and adding them and stretching them got it working.Definitely feels expensive for what you get.
