Boots are very attractive well made and im really happy with purchase. Only complaint I have is I have really wide feet so I ordered a 11.5 4E

I will gladly give this boot 5 stars but with a few caveats. Fit: I normally wear a converse size 8, and it was recommended I order a half size down so I bought a size 7.5 There is some versatility with the sizing. Right of the box these boots were TIGHT. The length was perfect for sure, but the toe area really squeezed the widest part of my foot. Solution? These boots come with thorogoods own gel insoles, when I took the gel insole out, these boots fit just about perfectly (there is a stock insole underneath). Slowly but surely these boots are starting to stretch out, and as time went on, I found myself putting the gel insole back in every once in a while, i figure eventually i'll keep the gel insoles in all the time. Pros: -These boots are the real deal for a great price. If you're looking for a good looking alternative to an 8 inch moc toe like red wings Classic Moc Style No. 877 these are a really phenomenal alternative. (some even think these look better) -It is versatile with respect to fit if you take out gel insole Cons: The first time you walk in these boots they will rub your heels raw. There is a whole bunch of stitching right at the heel, which is very stiff. This left a huge amount of blisters on my feet even though there was no signifcant heel lift when I was walking. My first couple days rubbed my heels so raw i had to put my old boots back on for 2-3 days to give my heels a rest. Eventually I built a callus on my heels which made the boots walkable, but I still feel that hard bunch of stitching right at the back of the boot. Really the only poorly designed thing about this boot. tl;dr, you don't break in these boots, these boots break in your feet.
