Wow! That’s REALLY Dark!
I hate doing this… giving this product 4 starsI like dark coffee but for me, this is too much. However some coffees just stand up and have more robust flavor profiles available. This has all those characteristics for me , it’s just DARK.! I’m sure people that like that would give it a 5 star rating.

Not a dark roast
I love dark roast coffee. Not a fan of French. It tastes burnt to me. I have heard that the Vietnamese like strong coffee. So I decided to try it.This is neither strong nor dark. Compared to my fave dark roasts, this is a medium roast.Be advised it's 100 Robusta beans. Twice the caffeine of Arabica. Usually Robusta is a bitter brew. This is not.I could give 5 stars for how smooth this is when brewed. But, I neither need nor want twice the caffeine. What I wanted was a bold, dark roast. This is not to my taste.

Finely ground
It is a very fine grind. It's a nice dark roast that is great for a french press. The pump on a Keurig is a bit too weak for such a fine grind. I wouldn't recommend it if all you have is a reusable Keurig cup.

Good and interesting coffee, pricey
So I have to start by saying, when I ordered this I hadn't looked closely enough at the item description and directions to see that this coffee is a bit different than the run of the mill Folgers or Maxwell House. Had I noticed this before I ordered, I may have actually passed on this but I'm glad I didn't because I quite enjoy the coffee. As mentioned, the instructions in the listing (there are NO instructions on the bag which I found annoying) say to brew this with the pour over method (and two other suggested ways that I have never heard of) but I have never prepared coffee that way before and wasn't exactly enthusiastic to try that. So I just sort of had this bag of coffee sitting on the counter for a few weeks, unsure how I wanted to proceed. Finally, one afternoon I decided I was just going to try and brew a cup in my Keurig and see how it went. I filled my reusable k-cup pod fully and chose the smallest cup size on my Keurig brewer and was really happy with the result. The coffee has a nice rich flavor and aroma to it and is quite strong and bold, which is how I like it. Prepared this way, it tastes fine without any creamer, but I also tried it with a hazlenut creamer and really liked it that way. In the instructions they suggest using a couple ounces of condensed milk which I imagine would taste fantastic with this coffee but unfortunately is not something I keep on hand and probably won't go out of my way to purchase just to try with the coffee. BUT if that is something you do have on hand, it's probably great.I do have to say, at the current price of $18.88 for a 12 ounce bag, I would not purchase this again. I was very happy with the quality of the coffee, but the price is just too much for me. I'm a simple man and my go-to Folgers I can get at least twice that amount for the price. That's just me though, and if you are one that appreciates the higher quality and aren't afraid to pay more for it, then this is for you. For someone like me though that like to drink a good 4 or 5 big cups a day, this would just be too costly to keep up on.All in all, an interesting, distinctive, strong, and tasty coffee that comes at a premium price. Be aware of the suggested preparation methods before ordering and know what you are getting. Really good stuff but not cheap!
