Great little table top scope.
Great secondary telescope for when you don't want to lug around heavier scopes. Or for quick moon viewing.

Good Low-Cost, Introductory Telescope
For the price, it is a very good first telescope. The optical clarity is fairly iffy compared to Celestron's Skymaster binoculars that can be had for $10-15 more at Amazon. Even so, you can clearly see the craters and maria on the Moon. Last night, in a hugely light polluted locale, we were able to see all four Galilean Moons of Jupiter. We saw the Orion Nebula, albeit faint without appreciable color. You can also look at the Seven Sisters, and get overwhelmed by how many more stars actually make up the Pleiades. It makes many more stars visible where you could only see a few with the un-aided eye. For teaching and learning beginning astronomy especially basic telescope usage, it can't be beat. The simple Dobsonian mount reflector telescope is perfect for throwing on the hood of a car and having folks take turns viewing. It is much more steady than the twitchy, lightweight bipod mounted refractors most kids get for a first scope. Also, for the binoculars, I have yet to come up with a satisfactory mounting/viewing system worthy of the optics. Very glad I bought the FirstScope, but I wouldn't buy a second one. Get your youngin' a FirstScope, and if they are still interested, get them something more expensive later. Don't spend $500+ right out of the chute, only to have your child get bored or frustrated.

Great, and inexpensive scope
Great, and inexpensive scope! After reading the review I decided to order the Celestron Zoom lens along with the scope. The lens costs more than the scope and it is worth ịt The lens construction is more robust than the include fixed lens (x2). They work right out of the box, and simple to setup. I tried it in my office and could see clearly without distortion a speck of dirt on the fluorescent light cover. I was impressed! That night I set it up with the zoom lens right outside of my garage, with a lot of light pollution around, I fumbled a bit on the attachment, but quickly got a hang of ịt Immediately I pointed to the brightest "star" overhead, knowing that it should be Jupiter. Sure enough I saw Jupiter ( it looked like this "o" at the highest magnification) and its 4 moons. I could discern the 2 bands around the planet, and its 4 moons. The collimation must be spot on! Also the scope construction feels solid eventhough it is made out of plastic. This reflection scope beats the the refraction scope I used before hands down, both in terms of clarity, ease of setup, and compactness. Thanks Sir Isacc Newton!

Very cool for rookies like myself
Short version: Cool for beginners and kids, but not incredibly powerful. Great intro to the night sky, especially for the price. Longer version: I've got to admit, I'm just getting into this...but I'm loving it. I was looking for something that 1) wasn't expensive, 2) could be used by my kids, 3) somewhat portable. Power - I realized it wouldn't be the most powerful telescope, but I wasn't too concerned about that. Moon views are great, and I can see stars a bit closer than naked eye. Price - I felt it was a good value for something to start with. I didn't want to pay $200 and up to find out I wasn't interested. So I'm thankful this was there as an option. Ease of use - I wanted something I could use as well as my kids. I think it's pretty easy to use for the most part. It's tough sometimes to line up on a star, and I don't really know how to adjust magnifications too well, but I'm getting better. My 5 year old daughter enjoys when I focus on the moon and let her look at it. I want to spark her interest, and I'm already seeing her enjoy it. Portability - This is great. I can grab it off the shelf, head outside, and start looking around. No huge setup or anything. Bottom line - I enjoy it. Granted, it's not the most powerful thing. It has, however, confirmed my interest and sparked my daughter's interest in astronomy. *Photo taken with my cell phone by just holding next to the eyepiece.

Hard to find planets
I purchased this Celestron Signature Series “Moon by Robert Reeves” telescope as a Christmas gift for my 7-year-old, who was really interested in the stars and planets. It looked like a good beginner option that wasn’t too expensive, but it ended up being more frustrating than fun and the zoom wasn't a close as I was hoping for. We tried using it several times, but finding planets was extremely difficult. Even when we could clearly see them in the sky, we had a hard time getting them lined up in the viewfinder. The smaller zoom lens fits so tightly that swapping it for the higher zoom usually moved the telescope just enough to lose what we’d finally found. After multiple nights of trying and several hours we gave up, and it’s been sitting on the table since last Christmas. It might work better for someone with experience using telescopes, but it’s definitely not beginner-friendly.

Best bang for you buck
Great little unit to check out the moon. I was even able to see Saturn and its rings it was a very small image but still awesome. Small package makes it easy it store and to take along with definitely a great first telescope easy to use and small in size lots of fun and memories to be made with this.

GREAT QUALITY
My son loves this telescope

Le télescope semble de qualité mais évitez de le commander sur Amazon, le livreur de colis privé a joué au basketball avec le colis part dessus la clôture qui fait 2m de haut. Pour un objet aussi fragile c’est tout simplement scandaleux.

its great my son loves it, weve both seen good views of Pleiades and the moon with it. recommend a finderscope / laser pointer and some good lenses mid power like a 10mm the 4mm is too much except for the moon

Je pensais pouvoir profiter d’un télescope pour admirer les planètes du système solaire au final j’ai reçu beaucoup de plastique et une vision à peine mieux qu’à l’œil nu et même mon téléphone permet de mieux voir
