I recently tried the Minnesota Grown Black Wild Rice from Spicy World, and I am absolutely impressed. As someone who values both premium quality and natural ingredients, I can confidently say this rice is a standout product that deserves a place in every pantry. The black color of this wild rice isn’t just visually striking—it also offers unique health benefits. I’ve learned that the dark, rich hue is beneficial for kidney health, making it a great addition to any diet focused on supporting this vital organ. Additionally, the antioxidants in the rice are believed to help with reversing or preventing premature gray hair, so it’s a lovely natural food that can potentially help bring life back to your hair color. It's always wonderful when food can do double duty for both your body and appearance! In terms of taste and texture, this wild rice is fantastic. It cooks up perfectly, with a chewy, tender texture that makes it a delicious addition to a variety of meals. The nutty, earthy flavor is both rich and comforting, making it an ideal base for soups, salads, or as a simple side dish. It’s versatile, nutritious, and really elevates any meal you pair it with. The 6-pound bag is an excellent value for such high-quality wild rice. The packaging is sturdy and resealable, ensuring the rice stays fresh, and I love that it lasts for multiple meals. Plus, with its high fiber, protein, and antioxidant content, this rice is not only delicious but also incredibly nutritious. I’ve been incorporating this rice into my meals for a while now, and I’ve noticed improvements in my overall health, especially in terms of digestion and kidney function. I also feel good knowing I’m adding something wholesome and beneficial to my diet. Overall, Minnesota Grown Black Wild Rice by Spicy World is an exceptional product that I highly recommend. Whether you’re a long-time fan of wild rice or new to it, this is definitely a product that will not disappoint. It’s a healthy, flavorful, and nourishing choice for anyone looking to boost their diet and overall well-being.

Excellent rice at a great price. Just bring it to a full boil, no lid. Then reduce to a low (LOW) boil or a simmer for 40 minutes with lid. Shut the burner off. Let it sit for 15-20 more minutes. Easy breezy, perfect every time. Tastes fantastic! Fiber, low glycemic index, so SO much better than white or brown rice, which are both junk food in reality. Live in realty!! You won’t be disappointed.

My husband is Asian. We eat a LOT of rice. However, he is now diabetic. He's never going to give up his rice, so I was looking for a substitute. I was really happy to find this wild rice, grown in Minnesota, at a reasonable price. It comes in a pretty good sized bag. It's the perfect substitute for jasmine or basmati. It takes more water to be soft. I use 1 C rice to 2 1/2 C water in the rice cooker. Turns out perfect!

Excellent quality. Great taste. Superb price. I buy the six pound bag and mix it with six pounds of brown rice. Using a quart canning jar I'll portion the rice mix into individual vacuum sealing bags and vacuum seal them. Then they go into a deep freezer where they will stay fresh for a long long time. I open a bag, dump it into a canning jar and then vacuum seal that in between uses and that goes into the fridge. I start with half brown rice and half wild rice. Rinse very well. Par boil in six cups of water per one cup of rice mixture for ten minutes and drain. Immediately add back to pot, add one and a half cups of fresh water and bring to a full boil. Reduce heat to low and cover for 40 - 45 minutes. Uncover, let stand for 5 - 10 minutes and fluff with a fork. Serve. Notes: It would appear that most rice has a higher level of arsenic than I would like and that's why the whole rinse well and parboil procedure. Since arsenic is water soluble you can flush away a portion this way. The actual cooking time is reduced due to the parboil, so if you choose to skip this step you'll need to extend the cooking time accordingly. I often use beef or chicken broth packets from HerbOx (I like the sodium free ones) that I get here on Amazon. One or two packets really liven up the rice. In addition, when I first remove the lid after cooking, I will add a big handful (or two) of frozen corn and/or peas. It helps me get more veggies. You may need to cover the rice again and give it another five minutes or so on low to thoroughly heat the veggies before you uncover and fluff.

Husband loves wild rice but only from certain areas from up north. When I got this, he told me it was the wrong stuff, but I made it anyway and he loved it and so do I. Nice nutty flavor and full grains. We got a 5# bag so we'll have it for quite some time. Decent price too.
