National Geographic United States Wall Map - Explorer (32 x 20.25 in) (National Geographic Reference Map)

I ordered this map as an emergency backup in case my GPS wasn't working in an emergency. It's big enough to see all the included features such as major topography, larger urban areas, the highway system, and airports without having to use a magnifying glass, but not so large that you'd have to keep it in a folded mess to use it properly. Obviously won't do you as much good as a proper atlas, but for its size and weight you get a great deal of utility here. The lamination is hefty enough to protect the paper, but nice and flexible too. If you're looking for a quick n' dirty map to aide you on a road trip or as a backup in case of a "zombie apocalypse", this is a pretty good option.

This is great - I'm excited that it has my home town marked on it. Nice colors and nice quality map. The lamination is nice because we can take it out and look at it without fear of damage. Has been a nice conversation starter with lots of visitors. Hopefully the south does not secede from the union so it will be accurate for a long time.

Very happy with this laminated map. I got it to help visualize/plan several trips this year as we are in the college search process. It is fairly thin, but I have not found that to affect the quality of the product. I use vis-a-vis pens to map our routes, they are easy to see and wipe off cleanly. The map is big enough to easily see major cities in each state and see the state boundaries, but is not large enough to map out routes on specific roads...you'll need a more detailed map for that. I like that there is also plenty of room in the border for me to make notes as to length of drive time between our stops...it just gives a handy overview of the plans.

These are very detailed maps and easy to use. They are a little one the more durable heavy size so just sticky tack alone doesn’t hold them on the wall.

This was perfect to place on the wall of our camper. I am able to map our trips with a washable marker and erase it I want to. Laminated. Very light in weight, I put it up with Command strips. Works perfectly!

A great, clear map. We will be traveling a lot so we will post this in our camper. Our camper is very small so I actually cut this map in half so I can hang it inside the camper. I put velcro on the back so the map can be flipped over when we travel east to west. I bought removal dots so I can document our trips.

The map is ok. It did come in a tube but apparently somewhere along the way of packaging it got lots of wrinkles in it. Don't understand how that happens, although lots of people mentioned it. You would think the company could find some way to fix that problem. It is supposedly laminated but it was so thin that it didn't offer enough protection for me. I took it in and had it laminated at an office shop and it is much better now, although it cost me an extra $16 to have it done. Without the extra lamination I doubt that it would have lasted long, as it was very flimsy. I love that it shows all the national parks, that was my main requirement.

This map is perfect for my 6 yo grandson to track his fathers travels (his dad drives an 18 wheeler all over the USA). He uses a dry erase to create lines as his dad drives from one state to another while delivering a trailer. Then he wipes it off and starts over. He’s connecting with his dad while learning geography.

The USA map is not laminated as was described on website. It was partly damaged. Paper quality is good but not as good as Collins world map. The map shows cities, roads state boundaries and international boundaries. But national park or monuments aren’t shown as written by someone in review. But I don’t want to return the item, as it’s an educational tool and no other map available on website is better than it. But Collins world map is superb ultimate. Packing of USA map was good.
