Bumblebees: An Introduction

A lovely book
I'm not mad on the shiny paper, but most wildlife books seem to be made of that nowadays. Otherwise this is a lovely, informative book with great photos; I'm very pleased with it, and also the speed with which it was delivered, earlier than promised. I feel that I will learn a lot from it. 100% satisfied with my purchase.

Excellent guide
For more than 20 years my gardening motivations, behaviours and plant choices have been driven by the philosophy of making my little plot of land as friendly and beneficial to wildlife as possible, and this starts with the small stuff - the insects and other invertebrates. Nothing gives me greater pleasure in my garden than to see (and hear) my flowers being visited by a wide range of pollinating insects - bumblebees, solitary bees, honeybees, hoverflies, butterflies (and moths), wasps, and even pollen-feeding beetles. Like many other reviewers, bumblebees have a special place in my emotions but even though the actual number of UK species is relatively low, their constant busy activity makes it challenging to confirm to species. This little book from the BBCT is thoroughly recommended as an introductory guide. It's well set out and packed with information and advice. It includes both diagrammatic pictures of the species' typical colour morphs and lots of companion photographs.I have most of the other books in the authors 'Further Reading' section and each has merit and a well-deserved place in my wildlife book collection. This little book is no exception. It provides valuable well-packaged information that will really help to build confidence in UK bumblebee identification and inspire continued effort to support them. Well done BBCT team!!

Bumble Bee Conservation Trust Book full of wonderful detail and photographs
Prompt delivery, as described. Very keen to learn about bumble bees, their life cycles and how to support them my garden. Great introduction which prompted me to become a Bumble Bee Conservation Trust member so as to support their wider science based work across the country. Learning to identify bumble bees is the first step to being able to take part in their citizen science programmes. Looking forward to creating habitats that will help reverse Bumble Bee decline.

First class introduction to the life bumblebees.
Excellent book to help you to understand and identify bumblebees. Lots of illustrations and useful information. I should have bought this in the Spring as my garden has been full of bees this year, and the growing season is coming to an end. Looking forward to putting this book to good use in the garden next year.Just about to purchase another copy as a gift for a bee loving friend.
