Coming from a Zephyrus M15 with a 2070 in it, this laptop blows it out of the water. It did however cost more than double, totaling at just over $4,100 after taxes. My only gripe is that their thermal paste (liquid metal) job is horrendous. After extensive research, I learned that before I even use my new laptop I should fix their job. So almost $60 later of Liquid Metal Extreme and Kryonaut Extreme (for the surrounding Vram and other chips that are cooled by the heatsink) I opened the laptop immediately after unboxing. I cleaned their mess, applied a consistent proper amount of thermal materials, and put it back together. Windows setup was a breeze with this space-shuttle of a speed laptop, and very soon I was off to enjoyment. Gaming is super smooth. Cooling thermals, and fan noise is very good I would say. The 3 system fans and massive heatsink also help immensely with quiet and efficient cooling. That's about it. Everything I've thrown at it was handled with ease. Fps on ultra everything has never dipped below 100fps on anything. So if you can swing it, this is a very nice laptop.

Great laptop. Works well easy to use and fantastic for gaming. Runs everything on ultra well. Some armory crate software small bugs with aura lighting is my only complaint. The laptop is well built and keeps temperatures in check. Fan noise can get loud. I don’t use it as much unplugged but when I have the battery has been good enough for me.

So far, so GOOD! I've had my G635LX for just about a month now, so this review is primarily my 1st (maybe 2nd) impression. Easy to set up. install programs and import files from my desktop. In fact, my MS account made it especially quick, as it did a lot of the work automatically. I dumped the McAfee almost immediately, as I have never required anything more than Windows Defender and my properly set up ASUS GT-AC5300 router for protection. The G635LX is heavy, but considering the RTX-5090, it is what I expected. As a professional photographer, lighter is often not better, even when transportation is a factor ... it is a trade-off I'm willing to make. It is still lighter than my Nikon Z9 with 24-70mm f2.8 lens attached. The screen is gorgeous, and the GPU will run programs like Adobe Lightroom Classic without any problem ... which is a big deal for me! My old laptop, just could not handle Lightroom ... it would completely stall doing tasks that the G635LX does in seconds ... thanks to the RTX-5090. So far, the cooling works well, and I've had no issues. Also, it is not too loud, as a few others have indicated in reviews. I added a ROG Keris II Ace wireless mouse and ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova ear buds. Both synced easily using Armoury Crate, and all functions, including updates, are easy to handle. I'll review both of these accessories next. Her upgradeability is wonderful, possibly the easiest of any laptop. I can (and will) pop in an additional 4T M.2 drive soon. I've built several ASUS motherboard-based desktops over the years, and I fully enjoy their products. I also performed a BIOS update. which went as expected. Sure, there are occasionally small issues, but typically nothing I cannot figure out. I will continue giving her a full test using Lightroom, which can really extend the abilities of a GPU. And also, my favorite games (CounterStrike 2 and CyberPunk 2077), which play well thus far ... before adding to this review. Bottom line is I am quite happy with my purchase. I love the typical ASUS light shows!!

Its everything you expect for top tier laptop. It's heavy and the charger is also heavy. So if you trave lots get the thinner ROG with a 4090.

Decent, if overpriced laptop. This 2024 version has an Intel 14900HX CPU and the nVidia RTX 4080 laptop GPU w/12GB DDR6 video memory, 32 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM system memory; comes with 1TB SK hynix NVME SSD, I added a second NVME myself (Samsung 990Evo 2TB) for storage. The screen is nice, high refresh rate but only 16" so a come down from my desktop system's large 4K. Nonetheless, it looks great. Some minor scaling issues, but that was software based and seems to be solved. Heat has been an issue, so I got a laptop cooling 'pad' w/ 2 fans and it's doing better. Seems to run cooler, just noisy (but wearing headphones I hardly notice it). If it's throttling at the higher temps, I haven't noticed it in performance during gaming. I used it a lot at the beginning, but then switched to my desktop when I upgraded that (finally). Still, I'm glad I have it for when I have to travel. I've not had any failure so far.
