This is a great quality product unlike some other brands. This one is like wood shaving instead of other brands which are more paper-like and melt. I use it in a fruitfly culture for my dart frogs and it works well

I did not realize 5 lbs of this would take so much space. I didn't have the room to store it, so I wish they included box dimensions or something in the image. The quality of the excelsior is good. I got a 5 oz pack from them before and I liked it so I got it in bulk. Had a slight smell to it, was hard to pull apart, and made me sneeze, but what can I say...it's a wood product so it's gonna have wood dust from the shavings. I don't think there's any avoiding that when going with excelsior.

Used to make topiaries that turned out lovely. Great color, easy to work with. Will use on other projects.

I used it to fill a wood box to give it the crate look.

We have a bunch of this left over and it worked great for an ornament the kids at church were making!Good quality too!!!

It works the exact same as the expensive version. No harsh smell, no issue with fly numbers, all at a lower cost.
