I bought the Xiaomi TV Box S 4K (3rd Generation) about five months ago, but unfortunately I have been experiencing problems with it almost every day. The device frequently freezes even when I am not running heavy applications. Very often when I try to turn it on, it does not respond to the first press of the remote and I have to hold the button for several seconds. Even after turning on, the device sometimes freezes. Almost every morning I have to unplug the power cable and plug it back in to make it work again. Today I tried to reconnect the remote control hoping it might solve the issue, but now the remote cannot connect to the device at all. Overall, this has been a very frustrating experience and I expected much better reliability from this device.

Perfect as described

I was really excited to upgrade to the Xiaomi TV Box 3rd Gen. The interface is excellent it’s smooth, fast, and Android 14 feels like a big step forward. In many ways, I actually miss this speed on my older 1st Gen box. However, I ran into a major issue with 4K content on IPTV. The playback became extremely choppy and stuttery, almost like slow-motion or frame-by-frame playback. What’s surprising is that the exact same IPTV app, same internet connection, and same HDMI cable work perfectly fine on my Xiaomi Mi Box 1st Gen. After checking online, it seems this isn’t just me a lot of users reported IPTV playback problems on Android TV 14, especially with certain 4K streams and live channels. So it looks like this may be an Android 14 issue rather than a faulty device. Because of that, I decided to return it. Still giving it 4 stars because the UI performance and speed are genuinely great just wish 4K IPTV playback worked the way it should.

I am writing to report a serious issue with the Xiaomi Android Box I purchased approximately two months ago. From the very beginning, the device was noticeably slow, although it was still functioning. However, the performance continued to deteriorate over time. Now, it does not properly power on at all. The only way to get it to start is by unplugging the adapter and plugging it back in. Even then, it turns on for a few minutes but becomes completely unresponsive. The menu does not work, it does not navigate, and in most cases it does not fully boot up. At this point, the device is entirely unusable. I am extremely dissatisfied with this purchase, as the product has not functioned properly since the beginning and has now completely failed after only a short period of use. I kindly request that you review this issue and process a return and refund for this defective device as soon as possible. Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your prompt response.

box is as advertised, comes preloaded with some apps and you can load in more, works well and fast

Die Box hat eine gute Performance, alle zeitgemäß wichtigen Video und Audio Codecs und WideVine L1 an Bord. Mit ein bisschen adb Debloating bekommt man auch ohne root den ganzen werkseitig installierten Müll zumindest von der Oberfläche ausgeblendet. Gepatchte APKs lassen sich mit sideloading einwandfrei installieren. Werbung auf dem Homescreen sehe ich keine, habe allerdings auch PiHole als Werbefilter laufen. Die Box ist Dualboot fähig über USB, damit kann man auch alternative Betriebssysteme (Zb Kodi) betreiben, hab ich aber nicht ausprobiert. Für mich ist die Kiste zur Zeit das beste TV Streaming Gadget in diesem Preissegment, über chinesische Direktanbieter bekommt man die Box derzeit für 45€.

Excellent box. High quality videos. No buffering. Remote is a little difficult to use in the dark. Voice input button is a great bonus. No hdmi socket. Have to use wi fi. I have been using the cheaper boxes in the past. This one is well worth the extra cost, the difference is really noticable. Only disappointment is the lack of UK mains plug.

الجهاز ممتاز جدًا، فيه عيب أن الواجهة الأساسية ما تظهر لك التطبيقات الي حملتها خارج المتجر. وأحيانًا لما تبحث عن تطبيق معين في المتجر ما يظهر لك -لما تكون على الواجهة الأساسية-. لكن حلها سهل استخدم ProjectIvy Launcher .. والجهاز يصير عال العال والبرامج كلها تظهر 👍
