Q: does the 26oz size not have that inside tab that you pull after unscrewing the top?

The 26 oz. size with the screw top is chicken "stock", not broth. I buy the broth in 32 oz. cartons with plastic tabs to lift open and a thin foil liner which is supposed to lift up but always has to be cut away with the tip of a paring knife. I would imagine that the inside of the containers, under either lid, would be similar, but I don't know for sure.

Q: Is the container/packaging bpa free? i thought campbells switched to non bpa packaging a few years back?

Hello. Campbell has transitioned to non-BPA lining in our aluminum and steel cans in the United States and Canada. Products in PET bottles, pouches and cartons like some V8 beverages, Swanson broths and Campbell's sauces are in non-BPA packaging. We hope this is helpful. -Riley with Campbell's

Q: what is the shelf life after it is open?

Open box should be good for a week in the refrigerator, less if you're reheating, then less than a week.
