Overall happy with mine. Got it installed OK, its fully functional as advertised, and looks good in my pocket door. Two issues prevent 5 stars from me. 1) The design needs more margin of error for the wood screws; they are extremely close to the large holes you need for both the mechanism side in the door, and for the latch plate in the door frame. The way it is, the wood screws wont penetrate into a robust solid wood area to bite; instead they are likely to break through into the larger holes. This is aggravated by the fact that a typical interior door isn't real wood, but sort of a carboard and particle board sandwich. I was able to work-around this issue, but it took time, and I wouldn't have needed to if the wood screw locations were spaced further away from the large holes. 2) Key insertion and removal from the lock is really tight requiring a very deliberate effort to get it in and out. Other than that, it is a somewhat tricky installation task, NOT for a novice. I read some of the problematic reviews, and believe many of them are probably due to the trickieness of the installation; it is NOT easy. If you attempt to install one, I suggest reading the directions thoroughly several times while handling and operating the lock BEFORE you drill any holes! Be very careful of the right-hand versus left hand door instructions, etc....

Building a new house with 4 pocket doors and so I looked at many sets of hardware for the doors. We wanted a way to lock them like a bedroom to keep out the grandchildren or for privacy on a hall bath. They were the best I could find and I am very happy with their quality. You can see in the video how they lock and secure the door. From the other side you can unlock them with a coin or a flat head screwdriver if you need. We bought four of them and all were high quality with no issues!
