Good powerful hammer drill.
Powerful and long lasting drill. Good size heavy with battery, but feels solid. Works well as hammer drill and powerful cordless drill/driver.

a big improvement over the 18V brushless hammer drill
I've been a devoted Metabo HPT user for several years now. I already own the 18V brushless hammer drill that came in a kit with the 18V brushless triple hammer impact driver. The impact driver has been solid and I have no plans to upgrade to the 36V version at this time. But the 18V hammer drill had a bum chuck on it – with heavy bits, the electric brake would stop it fast enough such as to loosen the chuck and drop whatever it was holding. Which is unacceptable. I was honestly worried this 36V version might have a similar issue, but so far it's been a pleasure to use. More power than I probably ever need (the auxiliary handle is often a necessity) plus it accepts Metabo HPT's AC adapter. What really sold me on this kit were the two MultiVolt batteries – it's a good deal when taken in total. I needed more batteries anyhow, especially of the dual voltage type (18/36V) since I'm leaning towards purchasing 36V Metabo HPT tools when the option is available.

Garbage
Lasted 2 months with very light use. Won't work at all and metabo warranty is the worst I have ever seen. They make you jump through hoops just to get someone to look and see if their garbage is repairable. They then make you pay for shipping to send their garbage back for repair.
