Well, I purchased this years ago at a store for my husband. I recently had a painful rash/ razor burn on my underarm. So I raided my husband’s shaving drawer, settled on this after shave product that’s been in there for years now. It soothed the stinging right away, also noticing a very light and pleasant “fresh shave from the barber” smell. My razor burn was healed the next day!!! I used a few times more, applying to my under arms and once to my freshly shaven gams. Shocked later in the day, just how oh-so soft and smooth my legs were. Impressed. I found it’s available on Amazon. Kinda steep price, but I was read somewhere this product also doubles as a make-up primer??? Okay, so I bought a tube for myself. It arrived prompty, in slightly different and updated packaging. ( I did have to experiment as a primer under my make-up… worked good and didn’t make me breakout. So I suppose I could use it as a primer when I’m low on my go-to product)I love it for all the other uses, applied on hot summer days as a refresh body cream after the shower, AND when my sunburned feet were driving me up the wall when I was trying to sleep!You get the point here: great product, very useful multi-tasker! Definitely spot-on as an after-shave.

I like the Baxter of California shave balm. It flows and spreads nicely. Calms any shave irritartion. Mild pleasant scent formulated in the balm. Nice product. Good value, too

My favorite aftershave that I have tried. Use it often as I have to shave often for work. Cooling and helps with my sensitive skin. Also smells great.

I had been 'hunting' for a new product to apply to my face after shaving. I had gone through quite a number of them until finding Baxter of California After Shave Balm--I've been using it for almost a year now. To be honest, when it first arrived I wasn't so thrilled with the fragrance... it reminded me of the barber shop when I was a boy (decades ago!). Interestingly, now I have come to enjoy the scent, rather fresh when you apply it... and it doesn't linger too long. The balm is very soothing to the skin, and moisturizes without any trace of greasiness. If you have very dry skin, you may need to apply a moisturizer in addition to this product. I like that it doesn't make your face shiny, more of a matte finish on your skin--clean, fresh, and comforting--it never stings or irritates. This is really excellent stuff! A small dab goes a long way...one tube lasts me almost 6 months. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for a quality after-shave balm that won't break the bank.

I liked this until the "sealed" end of the bottle wasn't. The third time I went to use it, there was an odd noise and nothing came out so I squeezed harder. Half the bottle blew out the other end all over my hardwood floor. After about an hour of cleaning, my floor and I smell good at least. :(

I pride myself in a very close shave---both my face and my head. Baxter's is expensive, but I use it every time I shave. It's an indispensable part of avoiding the usual bumps and ingrown hairs I used to deal with. It smells awesome, the cooling effect is great, and it helps keep my scalp and face from drying out. It would be nice if the price went down, and it would be awful if they stopped making it.
