I purchased this light to be my daily driver at work as a diesel technician. The light is bright, built extremely well, and fits the hand perfectly, without being overly large for pocket carry. The rear cap magnet is a huge plus for any mechanic to place on vehicle for hands free work. There is truly only one issue I have with this light. With all the programming and tech this light has, I wish I could program which brightness setting is default. From olight, the light is pre set to turn on in medium, which then requires a repress and hold of the power button to set to high. It will remember the setting for a set amount time after shut off before defaulting back to medium brightness. Please, Olight, let me set it to start and stay in high setting from the jump. That's all I ask.

The Olight Baton 3 Pro has become a must-have in my everyday carry essentials, alongside my Leatherman Skeletool, Space Pen, and keys. This flashlight is impressive—it holds a charge for a long time and offers three different light settings, with a powerful 1500 lumens that really cuts through the dark. The build quality is excellent, with a durable metal body that’s scratch-resistant and built to last. For the price, the value is outstanding. If you’re looking for a reliable, long-lasting, and bright EDC flashlight, this is a fantastic choice!

Haven't had it out much yet, but this appears and feels to be very well designed and built with an all aluminum body and plenty of knurling, reminiscent of my tried, true, and still often used Surefire 6P but more compact. It's smaller than I expected, which is not a bad thing at all. When you see it in hand in the pics and check the measurements, it's hard to get an actual take on the size, especially if you've got bigger hands, but if you think it may be a little on the large side there is no need to worry, this really is a pocket light that is made for EDC. Haven't got it fully broken in yet, just been getting a handle on some of the features while playing with it around the house and short walks at night, but going to share some likes, dislikes, and general impressions. Likes: Again, it appears to be very solidly built and I do like that it is all aluminum so I'm pretty sure this thing will stand up to about anything. Battery life seems pretty impressive so far, other than only getting two minutes on turbo which is the mode they seem to be touting as the main feature. Bright, brighter than I expected on high and turbo is freaking insane for a light this small. But really, two minutes? Dislikes: You may have seen this coming, but advertising this as a small, 1500 lumen light is kind of shady in my book. You get two minutes at that setting before it drops down to high where it is good for quite a while before it steps down to the medium setting. I do like that it drops down at specific ratings for specific times instead of just fading out, but again, two minutes people? The 'L' bracket, really? What is this for? If I need a light in place for something, I'll find a light that is made for that purpose. It cracks me up that they mention how the horizontal end curls up so you won't hurt yourself if you run into it. This thing is small enough that if you stand up into it or walk into it, it's going to hurt, or worse. May work for some, but I didn't by an EDC pocket light to use as a work light. At this size, it really could use a hole somewhere on or near the tail for a lanyard or fob. Not a deal breaker, but I'm more of a fob guy on a light this size. I know, not everyone is, and this a probably more a pet peeve of mine than it is for a lot of other folks. Most annoying for me is the charging attachment. Not sure how this is really practical, it seems like more of a gimmick to me. At first glance it seems like kind of a neat and innovative idea, at second glance it's kind of cutesy in how simple it is, the third look makes you scratch you head while you try to figure out how to fit one more USB cord somewhere since you most likely have a USB-c, a micro USB, probably a USB-a, maybe a lightning cord, and only two, maybe three USB ports on your computer if you have a PC, and less than that if your a Mac person. I have a cord in my car that fits my phone and my earbud case, so now I have to drag this one around if I want to charge it on the go instead of at home or at work. It's a pocket EDC flashlight, it's not meant to be kept in just one place. Do I need to by two or three of these cute little gimmicky charging cables to charge it at work, at home, and in my car, just so I can lose one? Impressions: It took me a bit to get used to the side switch. It's more of changing habits after Surefire and Fenix lights and tail cap switches, but not that big of a deal once you start playing with it. Switching between modes takes a little time to get used to, but it's not that complicated once you've played with it. I prefer a light with less modes and especially not having to program in my preferred two or three especially when one of the ones I'd like to have is in one of the other programs - talking to you here Fenix. Who really needs a light with three programs and 10 modes? By the time you get to the one you want someone else has already lit things up or you've gotten yourself deeper into a situation that you don't want to be in. I also like that you can lock out the switch by holding it down for a couple seconds, no worries about having it on in your pocket like some lights. This thing gets hot on the turbo setting, and I do mean HOT. When I first jacked it up to turbo there was a bit of smoke coming off the head of it, maybe a bit of residual oil from machining? After two minutes you can't touch the head of it until it cools down for a few minutes. Trust me, you don't want to go straight from turbo to your pants pocket right away. This isn't any kind of a deal breaker, just an observation, although I do wonder if it may affect the battery life if used consistently over time on that setting. If you've run the Surefire 6P, G2, or Fury lights you know the head of those are pretty good sized, which I suspect works as a heat sink, while the head of this is pretty compact and doesn't dissipate heat like those do. The moonlight feature seemed like kind of a cutesy little afterthought or gimmick at first, but after playing around with it I've come to like it. It's on it's own little setting that you have to switch into and out of, but sometimes you just want a bit of light without taking out your night vision and this is perfect for that. All in all, I do like this light. You get a lot for the price, even given the incredibly short run time on turbo as the high setting is plenty bright for most applications; and if you really need that many lumes for that long, you are most likely going to be rocking a bigger light. I can't see this going with me to a lot of places where it may need to be recharged before I can get back to that cute little tail magnet but once I figure out my main use for it, it will stay near the charger and see a fair amount of pocket time.
