Well Propogated
Amazing quality, had literally no stress or even damage within the entire month I've had them now and they're happily acclimated into their garden growing like crazy! Arrived in the most clever and safe packaging. The plant was propagated well, the leaf color is the proper green (which means proper nutrients), and the soil was perfect and very supportive of such a small plant with unique needs.I will say, they don't do well with clay soil or desert conditions, I think the species is a little more picky than some websites advertise (I've seen claims that this is a durable mountainous tree which would imply it had the resilience of weeds which it does NOT, I've killed a few under this impression.)These winterize in my lakeside property in zone 5b. After the first freeze I chop the stalk down to 3' and mulch the base, wrap xmas lights on it, then wrap it in burlap 3 x loosely. Make sure top of stalk is covered, try not to let the burlap touch the actual plant too much just touching the lights ideally, and don't forget to check under the snow periodically to make sure the lights are still on. You may have the whole stalk in tact, you may have to cut it to the ground, but if you do the lights and the mulch/ burlap barrier you will have a beautiful ever-expanding grove of bananas. These do better when i instantly pile snow on top in the beginning of the season, I think it protects from freeze. Also, they seem to grow back quicker when planted in a less-windy and more protected locale. The easiest way to share with friends is to make a tissue culture (easy to research). Thanks for the awesome specimens.

Shipped way too small
I have already reviewed these. These plants were way too small to successfully stay alive in shipment for almost 3 weeks. One has already died, a second is barely hanging on. The other 2 have new leaves starting. Plants this size belong in a nursery until they have way more than 2 leaves, no less than 6 or 8. Way too expensive for plants barely past seed stage.this company should be ashamed. I may contact them for at least a partial refund, unless the 2 living plants die as well! Then I would want a full refund.

BOUGHT AGAIN AND CAME LARGER THAN 2 YEARS AGO
I ordered 6 Musa Basjoo; 2 from “by Hirts Gardens”, 2 from “by GreenBox” and “2 by Day Lily Nursery” but they all came together and were all from “by GreenBox” in my order summary. Interesting! They all were packaged together and looked identical. These all arrived together nicely packaged, looking healthy, and in 4 inch pots. The plants were pretty tiny in these pots so I left them in them giving them plenty of light, warmth and moisture. I have grown these Musa Basjoo Bananas in the past. After a couple of weeks the plants did not seem to be growing and lost some of their leaves. I decided to repot them in my own potting soil and pots.I WAS REALLY SURPRISED WHEN I TOOK THEM OUT OF THEIR ORIGINAL POTS‼!They had roots all bound together looking like they originally had been grown in tiny 3/4 inch by 1 1/2 inch plugs and the roots had not grown beyond the original plug because they were so tight and root bound. I gently tried to loosen up this tiny root ball so the roots could spread. I hope I didn’t hurt/kill them and I repotted them last night. They could grow like crazy, I hope, they are pretty tough plants, but they certainly would not have done well or died if I had not done this. I will update how they do next week with some pictures.5/30/22 Ordered four this year and they arrived today. I was so surprised at how tall they are, over 2 feet and looking very healthy in their small pots. The ones I ordered 2 years ago did exceptionally well, grew to at least 12 feet tall, but the following winter was very harsh and only a few came back but still grew tall again. Last winter I did not mulch them and even though it was a mild winter about 5 are coming back but three are coming up where I don't want them and if I try to dig them up, I might kill a very health and beautiful perennial. So I may have to kill these to save my perennial and that is why I purchased these to plant where I do want them to grow. I will mulch them this winter.

Great product !
I’ve purchased this banana for years through Amazon. Many come broken in half due to packaging. This purchase was different . It came tightly packed and in perfect condition. Thank you for proper delivery with instructions.

Cute musa basjoo plants
Cute plants. The only thing is that one plant arrived half way dead already. Yet, the other one came very healthy minus some diseased leaves. Also, the packaging could have been better. I repotted them the moment they arrived(which was about two-three days when I ordered!!) and the healthy plant has already unraveled a new leaf!

One plant was dead upon arrival
One plant was struggling but I think it may make it. The other plant arrived dead. It was totally brown and the roots were completely dry. The shipping package leaves a lot to be desired.

One out of two survived
Two plants came as advertised in a small pot but they weren't looking very healthy. I planted them in a larger pot with potting soil. One did not survive but after about 7 weeks, the other one is looking healthier and starting to grow.
