These are lovely and thick. They keep my feet warm and have not got a tight ankle cuff, but stay up really well.

I’m very happy with the socks, they are plenty warm without being too bulky. I will use them with short wellies and boots. The socks would be perfect for ice skating too, they would protect your feet from the hard plastic skates.

I put these on my wishlist precisely because they were specified as containing a generous amount of wool and was very pleased to be gifted them. However the packaging describes them as 'cotton socks', with no further details. Update: I did find them warm, so maybe they do contain wool despite being described as 'cotton socks'. And unlike some reviewers, I've had no problem with laundering. Thy washed very well with a machine wool wash at 30º. Star rating changed to 4 stars,

I just love the warmth and softness of these thick socks! The cuffs stay up, go on easily, and don't leave a band on my leg. Wish they came up higher as the photos show, but all in all a nice cosy sock that keeps my feet warm and comfortable. The blend of wool, polyester, nylon, and spandex is Smart, but inexpensive.

These socks are sooo soft and warm. I was looking for some thicker socks to keep my feet warm during the cold weather but also comfy I could longe in them if I wanted to wear them whenever.
