Great buy
This little contraption *does* have a bit of a learning curve - my first couple of attempts did not come together right, mostly involving one side of the plastic not being crimped in properly. However, after wasting the first 3-4, I seem to have figured out the trick: first, obviously, be *very careful* about how you place the pieces into the press, and then, not only be sure to press very hard, but I do each step twice. Since beginning this double-press procedure, I have not had another failure ( knock on wood!) I am removing the button pins, to make them magnets instead, attaching adhesive magnet squares to the indent.I haven't yet tried it with papers other than those supplied, but I don't foresee an issue with regular thickness printer type paper. All in all, it is definitely worth the buy, given most presses like this run into the hundreds of dollars, and just the button blanks comprise nearly half the cost of this package. It is not really up to any kind of large-scale operation, but for personal or small-scale use, it's fabulous once you get the trick of it.

Works well with practice
This took watching all available videos and reading the instructions very carefully. (The directions could definitely be better. Then a few attempts because it does take a bit of practice. You have to get the picture and the clear cover on just right before pressing together.) And then make sure all parts are facing the right direction. It is actually easier if you are making a few of them in a row as you get the hang of it. Once it is completed, they seem to be put together well enough to stay together. It is a heavy machine and seems well made. It is an economical way to make buttons for various projects.
