Doesn't eqsily retract
These sounded like such a great idea. When not using a headset or earbuds, I get frustrated trying to manage all the cords. Wouldn't it be nice to just have the cables neatly retract into a compact package? To begin with, I paid under $7 for this so I wasn't expecting the highest quality, but the very reason for buying this, its retractable feature, doesn't work. Okay, it doesn't work well. My hubby and I travel each overseas each year and the tour guides use a microphone transmitted to a headset. Years ago, I began bringing my own headset for my comfort. When traveling, though, I end up wearing an assortment of things including name badge on lanyard, camera, backpack, then add hat, sunglasses, etc. Also with tours, it becomes necessary to go through security checkpoints and I find myself struggling with strings, wires and cables. Having a retractable cord headset would help to simplify this mess. (Oh, why use wired headset? I've tried using a BT set with a transmitter, but the signal breaks up more than a wired set does. And the wired headset is handy on flights AND works on Hop On-Hop Off tours. )To extend the cord, pull both ends at the same time, with the retracting mechanism in the middle. No problem. To get the cable to retract, it requires a pull of both ends and the cable is supposed to retract. It doesn't, at least not quickly. The unit I have requires at least 20-30 attempts before it will release and retract. That is not going to work for me. And with each attempt, I get the impression that it will not retract at all. I usually give up, then return to it later to try again. So far, it eventually will retract. But what's the point? 20-30 attempts is far from convenient.Sound quality? The description mentions full bass sound. I find it to be very thin and tinny. I have not enjoyed using this for music. At least if it fails to retract, it is still usable but I'm disappointed it doesn't work as expected. Two thumbs down. I would have paid much more for a headset with a quality retracting mechanism and better sound quality.

I bought these for my husband. When we are out for appointments(medical etc.) where you might have to wait, he likes to listen to his music. The retractable ear- wrap fit in his case easily and he does not feel like he is carrying lots of extra stuff. He loves the convenience and he says the tone quality is great.

Good Idea, POOR execution and quality.
I originally LOVED these earphones. They are retractable so they don't get tangled. They don't fall out of my ears so they are convenient. However, they are terribly poor quality. After 3 weeks the earphones themselves started coming apart from the cords. The ends were fraying and they will probably not last much more than a couple more days before they are shorting out and not working. Plus, the fraying ends are so close to the ear hooks that there is no way to put electrical tape or something to do a somewhat fix. Don't buy these. Poor quality.

Easy enough to fix with tape
Purchased these for backup earphones for if my Bluetooth ones died midday. The only issue is the cords going into the earhooks started splintering after a couple weeks of on & off use. Easy enough to fix with tape, and not a huge surprise with $7 headphones. Sound is decent, but I mostly use them for call reviews and listening to podcasts, which aren't high-quality content to begin with.

Quality has decreased dramatically.
My first pair of these lasted 4 years. I kept them in my briefcase and used regularly for commuting to work. Retractable headphones make lots of sense and avoids the wires getting caught up and knotted. Unfortunately I just bought a new pair, and within THREE uses, I see that the black coating on the wires near the earpieces has come off, exposing the copper to the air. Since they are retractable, by definition the wires need to be strong enough to pull and repeal them to retract. This should not happen, and it took 4 years for the previous pair to occur. the black coating is literally peeling off. The quality has declined, I will lok for something else

I thought it was going to be one of those products that breaks after a week, but so far it seems pretty strong & stable even in my backpack full of wires.

Only lasted 1 month before frayed wires....
I cannot find how to contact amazon for questions about these earphones...Apr 25, 16 - I purchased these thinking they would be like the ones I purchased years ago... hard plastic ear pieces - swivel earphone [mine have broken but still work just dangle some]... The new ones are soft plastic earpiece integrated earphone [good they will not break]... both sets are having this issue - the wires at the earpiece are now stripped and the wires are visible... I am not sure how long they will last with exposed wires.... I know that they were only $7 but I would think that they would last longer then 1 month... Amazon please contact me...
