Fantastic little microscope.
This is an easy 5-stars for me. The price is amazing and it works extremely well. Ok, it's my first microscope so maybe I'm easily pleased, but it captures very good images at high magnification. Best of all for me is the fact that you just hook it up to your PC (it's plug and play, so just plug it in to a USB port and then turn on the 'Camera' app that comes with Windows) and you see the images on the screen instead of having to look into the microscope itself. This is really handy, it allows you to press the camera against your skin, hair, clothing etc and just look at the screen. The cable is long enough for it to reach from my PC, which is on a desk, down to the carpet. Then you can just hit 'Print Screen' and save your images in a paint package. I've had loads of fun with it and for £30, you just can't go wrong. The only issue I had, being a microscope noob, is that I couldn't work out how to focus it properly. A little bit of reading later and I realised that this an issue with all microscopes and it's due to focal length etc. It's not really a problem though, press it up against your subject and alter the zoom until it comes into focus. I find that for most subjects, I get clarity at two different zooms, one giving a good overall close-up and then it goes fuzzy until it comes into view again for a much more zoomed in close-up.

HD resolution a big plus in image quality
The Jiusion 2K HD 2560x1440P USB Digital Microscope looks very much like the scope I had before - no brand name. Wanted a replacement because software no longer worked (less than 2 years old). Thought maybe a windows update may be responsible. Tried everything but could not get it to work. This microscope looked so similar to the one I had and was not sure it would be any better. Eventually decided to take the plunge and boy am I pleased I did. Arrived within 48 hours with a good instruction leaflet with info to download software (xploview installation package) which I did. Up and running in no time. The picture quality way better than my last microscope due to its HD resolution. Lights controlled by a rotary switch on cable is much easier to use. Not always needed but nice to have when a dimmed effect is required. Usual button for a snap picture and a light weight stand - usable but probably the weakest part of the package. Also includes a Microscope Micrometer Calibration Ruler which I'm sure will come in handy at some point.Using it for printed circuit boards and coins mostly but it has also helped me replace a tiny screw in my glasses. Must be tons of ways this microscope can be of assistance. To conclude, this USB microscope from Jiusion is great value with good build and picture quality and this on a 27in monitor and running windows 10. Excellent.

Useful & works in Linux, but 1s image latency
I bought this "microscope" to help with repairing the logic board from my parents Apple MacBook. My expectations were low (it's a microscope for less than £200) and they were met.It is plug and play under Linux (Debian "Bullseye", but will work with others and older versions as it is a class compliant USB device), I am using the capture feature of VLC but even a webcam viewer such as Cheese will work. The image quality and magnification is decent and more than suitable enough for reflow and pad repair of 0406 SMD resistors. But be careful with reflow, as the stand is so short you could melt the device (I cobbled together a riser for the stand to keep the microscope higher up). The LED light is good and very bright and is operated by an in-line adjuster on the USB cable. There are two buttons labelled "Zoom" and "Snap" respectively. Nothing happens by default in Linux. But I wont ever need them so do not care if they can be made to work or not.BUT: there is a latency of around 1 second between something happening under the microscope and it viewing on screen. This makes board repair very difficult, but it is better than not having a microscope.Overall, I'm not disappointed at all. It's an OK product and the price point of ~£20 is just right. If you need a magnified view of something, it's decent. If you need a live view of what you're doing it is far below ideal, but is still useful.

Very capable and easy to use microscope
The microscope worked perfectly out of the box on my Android phone, laptop and desktop. You can just plug it in and use it like a USB webcam or you can download their recommended software which worked perfectly and easily. It has two main zoom modes, the lower magnification one has quite an impressive range and let's you place the microscope a reasonable distance away at the cost of magnification. It also has a higher magnification mode that works only when the thing you are trying to look at is right at the end of the microscope. The scroll wheel on the cord for the LED brightness is very useful as you don't need to touch the microscope to change the brightness which means you don't accidently move it.I have used mine for just generally looking at things, smd LEDs, E-paper displays etc. It is powerful enough to look at the pixels on your phone or monitor. I have also used it for smd soldering where it's long range came in very helpful as I could keep the microscope at a distance whilst using a hot air reflow gun whilst still having the benefit of the magnification of the microscope showing on a large screen. After soldering I could use the higher magnification mode to inspect the individual solder joints. The microscope coped comfortably with applying solder paste and components of 0402 size and qfn44 and I am confident enough in its ability to try smaller and more dense packages.Overall brilliant scope, very easy to use and works very well.
